The motion controllers I ordered from GameStop were delivered today, still can't believe I've paid £70 for them; feel totally ripped off especially so considering how poorly implemented in controlling the PS4 UI they are; they simply don't do anything meaning if you've been playing say Rush of Blood with them and you exit to dash now you've got to fumble about peeking under the headset trying to remember where you put the DS4. I wonder if it'll be hard to patch in a Wii style pointer system? That's all it needs really.

Anyway they make all the difference in Rush of Blood and in the Wayward Sky demo; I'm enjoying Rush of Blood but dreading it too  Putting those collectables to shoot at has you looking in places you'd rather not look, on a few occasions I've just decided not to bother looking in that doorway thankyouverymuch, just keep looking straight lol

Still not bought Batman yet and I'm not going to until I've had my fill of Rez, Thumper and Rush of Blood; I find I swap between games too much if I buy a lot, finish what I've got first :) Still enjoying VR, look forward to donning the headset as soon as I can, all I can think about is how freaking awesome it is and how fortunate I am to have this.

Had the guys over from work. Did VR worlds , shark attack , London heist (both shoots sections ) tumbler, driveclub with wheel, Valkyrie , rigs, batman, rush of blood, kitchen and finished off with allumette to calm things down . All utterly blown away , all three with revised Christmas lists .

Just did Area X tonight and I'm slightly underwhelmed. Think it's been overhyped which has probably contributed.

It's great but not the mind blowing experience I was expecting and as a package, £25 is looking a bit expensive at the moment.

One thing that is really confusing me is how low res it looks compared to normal Rez. I know it's a different engine and all but in VR it looks really quite blurry compared to the normal game. Looks really nice in TV mode, though.

I did really enjoy it, though. It's excellent and I hope they make a lot more like it. I'll go back through it a couple more times, I think.

You people made me buy Bound.

Out of interest, are other people taking breaks? I realised I've not played anything beyond about 20 mins without having a drink / snacks break, is that the norm or are people doing full on sessions?

Longest I've played is about 2 hours in a solid session. I've noticed my dizziness seems worse today. Time I took a couple of days break?

Is anyone else paranoid that they'll snap the headset when putting it on? I always hold it by the top band in one hand, and the back band with the button in the other. But if someone were to hold it by the goggle bit and the back strap and pull... ooh it just seems a bit flimsy.

Ive been playing Tumble like crazy, it's so good! Especially the extra timed/target medals you can go for. I can practically smell that platinum trophy...

Yep same here. I haven't bought any games yet as the demos give me what I need right now.

i got to the end of robot rescue today because it's a game that moves in the game world.

something like wayward sky is much less concerning.

i would say i play around 20 minutes before taking the headset off. Maybe half an hour before a 3-4 hour or a whole day break.

I managed to pull one of the rubber flaps loose! :o which was a little concerning but it clicked back into place thank fuck. I also worry that my glasses will gradually scratch the lenses too.

In other news, Bound is.... different. :) Don't think I've ever had to dance my way out of danger before.

Yep, I mentioned in my rambling post earlier today that with the lack of thumbstick or directional pad on the Move then a pointer system is a no brainer. It's what Steam VR uses and it works beautifully. Surely it will come, just be a bit more sensible with the UI design, although the entire UI is a bit shit really, although it is functional I guess, just not very VR! Also, I know Move does work with the front end but it's a bit sensitive I find.

Thumper!!!! WTF is going on inside my head....this is some seriously oppressive, depressive 2001 on a downer fuck in the face darkness.

I love it :) Time to buy the full game!

It's an amazing experience isn't it? Just managed to S rank the first 2 levels; the headset really lets you zone out; the game does something to your brain like you can feel yourself being taken over by it all and when you finally see and feel you're in sync with the music it all connects and just wow!
Although sometimes I keep expecting to see Willy Wonka to chime in any second
Faster! Faster!

Bound I don't feel, camera fucks it to me.

rush of blood is amazing, worth buying, so many jump scares I'm immune now and just working on scores and unlocks.

those Rez comments up there are insane.

Eve arrived today and it's good, but so far everyone seems to just go round in circles trying to tail people.  Sense of scale is amazing though.

rez is amazing.

tumble is great and the move integration is witchcraft.

everyone should get rez don't listen to they guy.

im defo having s night off tomorrow, but one last thing, get rez.

I think it's inevitable that lenses will get scratched up at some point, but I suspect they are pretty durable and like glasses will take about 3 years before they are completely past it. I wouldn't worry.

Also rubber flaps are meant to come off. Aftercare videos:

With someone with limited play time (like me) and a Rift I will occasionally need to show some love, there really is a lot of content at launch. Really can't believe how sour faced some of the reviews have been. There is some cracking stuff and I've only tried a few things, although possibly some of the highlights for sure. Rez, Rush of Blood demo, Batman (first 10 minutes), Thumper demo and a bit of Playroom. all seem great.

I haven't had too long to mess around the camera too much, once its locked in it seems fine and solid, but on starting some games (Rush of Blood, Thumper and The Kitchen) it takes 20 or 30 seconds when it's not tracking really at all and then suddenly it all comes together. Am I missing something? (or maybe I just need to play around some more)

Rez Rez Rez....it's the killer app for me so far. Just something I can dip into every now and again, still not unlocked Area X...time is a rare commodity for me.

I found the issue with Eve on the Rift was that whole going round in circles thing, just did my head in. I'm sure if you get good at it then it can be satisfying,...but I would never have the time to actually get good at it. If it has a proper single player campaign (which I was hoping for before it launched) then I'd be all over it.

All they need to do is roll out Tumble's look cursor thing and it'd be sorted. Can't believe it's not an option in most games.

VR Worlds menus are a complete joke with a move controller. The whole hold the trigger and wave it thing is utterly ridiculous.

Hrs and hrs too be honest but there's usually a smoke break for me every 60 minutes.

Has anyone tried mushrooms with one of these yet?

No haven't picked this season, but I expect Rez alone would be rather affecting.

In other none psychoactive news, I finally found the cojones to enter the kitchen tonight. That was rather unpleasant to say the least.

I meant to include smoking in my snacks and drinks break! The need for nicotine is keeping me away from prolonged VR, go go deadly cigarettes.

Some of my VR sessions have been very short, but that's purely been down to time constraints (fitting in a quick go before dinner/washing up/video making etc.). The longest I've spent on a single session was about three hours, which was split pretty equally between Rez, Thumper and Bound, and I felt no ill effects from it. I imagine three hours of more intense experiences might be less fun, mind!

I think the Heist demo is exceptionally good (even with the excessive effing and jeffing). The shooting, even with the Dualshock, is very interesting. I do wonder if this might point to a series of combat sims, multiplayer, in VR, which are actually a bit more like actual combat. Perhaps a "teleport" mechanic to cover (an auto Gears style run) and firefights based more on positioning, flanking, precision shooting, and not running around like hyperactive six year olds.
