Oh well, should be less of a worry with a 7kg Shih tzu! Although of course, more chance of squishing them or tripping.

How is everyone playing, standing or sitting. I do tend to stand for non cockpit stuff on the Rift and virtually all the Vive stuff I play...but figured PSVR may be more of a seated experience?

Last night I realised that standing is best unless you are actually seated in the game i.e. Drive club, Eve etc.  I was seated at first for Rez, then I stood up and it was infinitely better.

Question on the cinematic mode.

Don't know if anyone has tried it yet. Apparently the cinematic mode works with anything that has a hdmi port correct?

So if I ran a PS1 game through a PS3 that would work? I'm thinking of trying FF9 or something and see how that comes out.

Has anyone tried Harmonix VR. I just had a little browse through the store and the trailer looked pretty nice...and it's quite cheap. As I have limited time and also a Rift (and the Touch launch) to consider, I'm trying to keep my software in check. Obviously anything that has a demo I will wait to try before buying (apart from Rez and Batman which have both been purchased already as to me they are no brainers).

But the other things I'm pretty certain I will buy are Thumper, Tumble VR (not really my kind of thing but figure the wife could get a kick out of it), Keep Talking, Wayward Skies or whatever it's called and Until Dawn. However, Harmonix just caught my interest. What music can you play with it, can you use Spotify?

The good news is that Harmonix VR is on the demo disc and allows you to try all the visualisations, albeit with predefined music.

Damn all you VR-owning mofos, making me read all of your wonderful new toy experiences <_<

All of my whining to the missus has paid off though, she eventually grumbled "oh just get one then, you can have it for xmas" - result! 8-)

Anybody know of a good deal out there that comes with the camera and maybe a game or two? (we already have 2 move controllers)

It works as a HDMI display as well. I'm guessing the resolution would not be as good? But in terms of a cinematic mode, if i.e. you were shutting out other people in the house etc or a lack of another tv it might be a good alternative

In theory this should work I think. I play a ton of retro stuff in my Big Screen penthouse on the Rift. It works beautifully because you don't notice the drop in resolution (as there is no drop) on lower res games :)

I didn't get to play any VR last night...

Most games I could easily miss a night or more without even thinking about it.

All I can think about is when and how I'll next play. Not felt like this since Mario 64! Can't believe the irony of being off work for nearly a year to going back to work 3 weeks before PSVR launched... Yeah I can afford it now but I've got no time to play it...

Do we think the gun shaped holders for the PS Move will make a reappearance? I still have one from Deadstorm Pirates, and I'm sure it will be great for shooting games in VR - but as all the games require two controllers it would be weird to have only one that is shaped like a gun.

Are they not bringing out the 'aim' controller. I suspect that will replace anything that came before?

Not put the headset on since sunday and i'm having an awful time this afternoon.

The view of the headset is turned slightly to the left. The controller is slightly pointing to the right.

Tried closing the curtains to block the rather dim sunlight then put a mixture of lights on from a dimmer light to my room light and even no lights.

Kinda got fed up with it and stopped playing (not that i have any games anyway)

Tried the rush of Blood demo but ripped the headset off as I was being attacked about 20 seconds into it and shouted "you bastard" lol

the aim controller is a fucking swizz.

Its near identical to the sharpshooter with a move and navi controller in it.

You can watch other HDMI sources in Cinematic mode but the breakout box still has to be connected to the PS4 via USB for some kind of authentication malarky.

So I would have to have both consoles on? >.< Bit of a pain but do-able

Harmonix VR doesn`t have much content but it has a nice little 3d painting mode. I think you can put your music on a USB stick

Another experience that I'm going to have to get,  even if it's mostly used by my kids.  Couldn't help thinking wistfully back about when I was a teenager and what psychoactive substances I would have been throwing down my neck while messing about with it!

Sounds amazing. Loved this bit:

Quote

There are times when you will gracefully bank around wide boulevards before darting through a collapsed wall into a building, threading your way through layers of detritus before bursting through a smashed window on the far side.  Peeling upwards, narrowly missing a chimney stack atop a Parisian terrace, with the streets falling away beneath you suddenly you see it reaching high into the sky: the Eiffel Tower, resplendent, with the sun low on the horizon and wrapping the city in an amber haze. This is nothing less than intoxicating, and moments just like it keep happening again and again as you play.

It takes you back so perfectly to childhood dreams of flight. But not the mechanical facsimiles of flight other games deliver:  the joy of real flight, with no barrier between your instinct and your reaction.

Worth watching this explanatory trailer:

It might be £30, but if other reviews back this up, I'm in!
