My girlfriend also thinks it's hilarious. I told her to stop as I'll either have a heart attack or lash out and neither of those sound particularly appealing.

She said it was worth the risk.

Yep, my wife thinks it's hilarious to throw things at me (nothing sharp thankfully) when I'm in the middle of a session if she's unable to get my attention. Despite my desperate pleas not to do it and that it may kill me one day she still can't resist temptation sometimes!!

Yes - there is an update for the PSVR itself and then both the demo disc and VR Worlds have updates to download (and big ones).  So get started early if you can!

mmm thanks for that info..I'm guessing I can't get the PSVR update until I have it all set up? (i.e. my camera hasn't arrived yet so I'm assuming this would prevent set-up and therefore prevent the update me thinks?)

Was always to the left for me. How far are you from the camera?

I'll measure it properly later on, but I reckon about just over 1.5m.

I've tried to force it to go right, by looking constantly over in that direction. Doesn't move at all.

I had some really dodgy tracking in Batman last night, to the point where I didn't want to play anymore as it was totally ruining the experience. I tried a different camera position, ran through the main calibration settings (from the PS4 menu) but it was still happening in a pitch black room. I put the camera back on the telly, went through the rigmarole again but still had some serious jitter. The Batman calibration settings are annoying, since you can only stand on the bat symbol and get your head in the correct area if the camera is aligned 'just so'. Surely that means the camera is at the optimal angle and the tracking should be almost perfect? What else could be causing the issue?

Excellent, Move controllers arrived a couple of days earlier than expected. I love it when a company under promises and over delivers! Just need the camera now, come on Amazon!!!

Obviously as a Rift owner I have seen and played a lot of content (also quite a lot of Vive content too...most of the big hitters). So I'm trying to decide what to spend my time with tonight. I'm thinking....Batman, Rez, Playroom and Thumper (of course I will most likely only end up with enough time to play one of these!). Any Rift owners out there care to share experiences of what they've most liked from the PSVR line-up.

Oh, and Rush of Blood of course, now my Move controllers have arrived!

Read that the move controllers' tracking gets worse when they're low on battery.

Has anyone who has experienced the screen drifting noticed whether it has ever gone to the right before?  My unit always creeps to the left (especially when on the dashboard/non vr environment) and never ever to the right.

Mine always creeps to the left on the dashboard and I've heard comments on it from other people too. It's always to the left, never the right. I actually find the tracking kind of useless on the dashboard, it's never where I want it to be and I'm constantly resetting it.

That's exactly what I had last night, and it was really annoying.  Not had any tracking issues in any other games so far.

Now I've finished it I'm going back in to get the collectibles, and will spend more time dicking around to try and work out what's causing the problem.  It's such an amazing experience, it'd be a shame if the tracking is always going to be like that.

Even with the issues, Batman quickly became my default "stick people in this to show off VR" title.  I mean, just the fucking title screen is enough to convince most people how amazing this shit is.

That might be your problem right there. The PS4 camera likes some light, just not direct light sources pointing at it.

Dogs are the worst.  Mine is freaking out not knowing what we are all doing and as such will occasionally jump up on you to make sure you are ok!!!

Totally disagree, I think Rez is tricky, and the number of people stating they enjoyed it previously but never completed it is testament to that.  The difficulty comes in understanding the mechanics and its so easy to die at a boss a few times until you understand the dangers and then find yourself right back at the beginning of the level.

I doubt I'm somehow a gaming savant, just maybe used to the genre. But compared to games like Afterburner (never finished it), Space Harrier (ditto), Burning Force (same), or the Panzer Dragoon games (finished, but they always kick my arse on return until I relearn the patterns), Rez has never felt difficult. Within its genre it's particularly straightforward; you don't move your character, don't have to worry about dodging objects or the environment.

I mean, I finished areas 1-5 the very first time I played it on Dreamcast without running out of evolutions (did die on my first Direct Assault attempt, mind), and while it took me a few goes to get the proper ending, since then every time I've returned to it I've ended up getting the proper ending first time - on PS2, 360, and now PS4 that's been the case. I can't even remember what the sub-95% shutdown ending is any more!

Contrast that to Panzer Dragoon Orta, which on my last return had murdered me by the second level. I suppose it's a relatively narrow genre, so people who don't tend to go in for that kind of shooter might not find it as easy, but I've never found an easier into the screen shooter.

Oh shit. I didn't even think about this. My Rift is in my office and my two dogs seldom come upstairs unless invited. But of course they are in the lounge ALL THE TIME. Bugger, not even sure how this slipped my mind. I've been that busy thinking about where to put the headset etc to keep out of reach of the baby (as I will only ever use it when she is in bed)...I totally forgot about my furry trip hazards. Bollocks :)

On drift: Yep, it's always a left drift and not right. Seems odd so I can only think it's one of two things:

1) Something software wise isn't correct and it's overcompensating movement and the calculations somewhere.

2) The calibration screens are off. When I calibrated the headset it seemed harder to align the lights on the left of the unit - it didn't feel like I have the unit held at 90 degrees whereas the other side I did.

That's not a good idea. The game needs ambient light in the room.

That's really interesting. I was playing Batman in a dark room last night and for the first time didn't bother turning the TV on. The tracking of the controllers was definitely worse than it had been the day before when there was a little bit of light in the room from the television. I shall experiment this evening.

Has anyone tried Harmonix VR. I just had a little browse through the store and the trailer looked pretty nice...and it's quite cheap. As I have limited time and also a Rift (and the Touch launch) to consider, I'm trying to keep my software in check. Obviously anything that has a demo I will wait to try before buying (apart from Rez and Batman which have both been purchased already as to me they are no brainers).

But the other things I'm pretty certain I will buy are Thumper, Tumble VR (not really my kind of thing but figure the wife could get a kick out of it), Keep Talking, Wayward Skies or whatever it's called and Until Dawn. However, Harmonix just caught my interest. What music can you play with it, can you use Spotify?

Harmonix VR doesn`t have much content but it has a nice little 3d painting mode. I think you can put your music on a USB stick

Yip, it aint funny when a 35kg American Bulldog decides to jump up and stick its paws into your chest when you are fully immersed in another world!!

Oh well, should be less of a worry with a 7kg Shih tzu! Although of course, more chance of squishing them or tripping.

How is everyone playing, standing or sitting. I do tend to stand for non cockpit stuff on the Rift and virtually all the Vive stuff I play...but figured PSVR may be more of a seated experience?

If PSVR is selling this well at launch I hope it cleans up over the festive period.

I want it to be a success commercially to ensure that developers go all in creating new games and experiences for it.

I'm sure I've mentioned this at some point in the thread before but the different reactions to the experience is amazing.  One person tried Shark Encounter and almost starting crying because of how beautiful the ocean looked and and the feeling of being underwater with the sealife as she descended.  Another person tried it and needed their hand held throughout the whole experience (well before the shark appeared) because they found it so intense being placed in that environment!

Game changer.

Also, as has been discussed here, how far are you from the camera? Try being four feet away. Also make sure there's nothing in the camera's view that could reflect light (glass display cabinet, framed pictures, shiny leather sofas etc..)

It was about 4-5 feet. As I say though, the Batman calibration makes sure you are in the correct zone and forces you to align the camera correctly, so that shouldn't be an issue. Will try it in ambient light tonight.

My vote goes to our cats who both take turns jumping/running over me when I'm playing Rush Of Blood... bastards...

Drift for me is always to the left, but only when in the dashboard or playing a Blu Ray on virtual cinema. But when playing any gam, in identical conditions, even during the same non-stop session, it is always rock solid. Definitely software.

And in terms of our furry friends, our sheltie pup has taken to sleeping right behind my feet when I play standing up (Batman, Rez) - thank god for the tiny gap in the HMD so I can glance down and check where he is.

Same here - I get left drift outside of games. So I assume it can be patched.

I'm still debating which software to get. I think I might go for Wayward Sky, Everybody Explodes and VR Worlds. I'm uneasy about the latter, as it's essentially a tech demo, but it's good for demo-ing the system. My only concern is London Heist - can anyone confirm, as I can't find anywhere on the Internet, is it playable with one Move? Or a Move and a DS4? I know it's best with two, but I can't find another one :(

2 moves or 1 Dualshock 4 unfortunately
