As a Rift owner I really don't think Eve is worth the asking price, although I did get it for free. Unless you really love the core deathmatch experience, in which case you could get dozens of hours out of it. I guess it just didn't click with me....but then I have Elite in VR so that's perhaps not a fair comparison. I will shut up now!

Praying for PS4 Elite to have VR, even if Pro only.

I had a curious VR moment last night. Playing Tumble; I was delicately manoeuvring a block with my arm up near my head so that the glowing ball was very near my face - I felt what I could only describe as phantom heat from the glowing ball to the point where I had to instinctively yank the Move away from my face. Crazy times.

I get this all the time in the Rift. Its a very odd (not unpleasant) sensation. Also, with your hands represented in the VR space with the Leap Motion there is a demo called 'blocks' Essentially you are just grabbing and pushing blocks around with gravity on or off. However, it's a total headfuck, because it maps your hands so accurately I swear I can actually feel contact with the blocks on the tips of my fingers, and I'm not the only one. It's an amazing sensation.

Virtual Worlds has the best "screen splash" and title screen of any game ever.  The falling bullets have been mentioned, but also there are the matrix style bullets that go past you in slow motion which you can track as they pass you and go off into the distance behind you.  Batting the diamond around with the DS never gets old, I was disappointed you cant interact with the move controllers, doesnt seem to be a reason for that.

I love the meteor rock from (Scavenger's Odyssey), using the pad to "dam" the ring of little space pebbles. Love batting it away and feeling that it is way heavier than the VR Luge ball.  Has anyone put their head inside the water ball from Ocean's Descent?

For all you people putting their head through windows etc in Driveclub, this is something I still struggle with in the Rift. In the Appollo 11 experience I have to really force myself to stick my head out of the tiny window as the rocket propels from the launchpad. My brain just tells me not to I guess.

So my RezVR device has arrived. Seems like a much smaller box than the Rift but maybe that's my imagination. Now I just need the camera to show up from Amazon.

I'm assuming with Rez you have to complete the game to open up Area X?

Also, is everyone playing Rez with the pad or Move? (as my move controllers don't arrive until later in the week).

It unlocks after an hour or if you complete the first five areas.

I play with the controller. Pretty much do all movement with my noggin.

Tried heist in Gangster difficulty last night, not a chance, far too difficult, losing that laser pointer kills it.

also had my first disappointing thing with the VR last night.  Gave a non gaming mate a shot on Heist motorway shootout and he was totally cack handed with the move controllers, could find the bullets to load, couldnt pick up the soft drink, kept on switching hands with the gun.  Drive me mad and made me realise that perhaps this isnt as all inclusive as I had hoped.  I had to jump on straight away and try it just to check the kit wasnt damaged or not calibrated correctly, was absolutely fine.

He still declared it the best thing ever mind you!

Heh,  my thirteen year old daughter completed it on Gangster mate...

Provided you can get it for about £23 (Smyths) i'd say its a nice showcase and worth getting.

I would say it probably isn't. There's isn't enough there for £30. or even £20 really. But on the other hand London Heist is very well done; it's just very very short.

Ah, that's good to here. I love Rez but I've always been a little bit terrible at it...so was worried with my limited gaming time it would take me ages to open it up. Of course, in VR, my gaming skills are more ninja like as its closer  to real life :)

The one black mark against Rez was that I unlocked Area X by finishing the game rather than playing for an hour which means...

Well, it means I finished it in less than an hour but also that Rez + Move = easy mode.

On my first playthrough of Rez I thought the reticule was locked to the centre of your view. It was still easy (although I kept pausing to re-centre my view when I'd move the reticule accidentally with the stick - what a fanny).

Also -  I really want a 2nd move controller but £30 plus?! I'm kicking myself for not picking one up earlier.

Rez in any form is easy mode, VR (and presumably Move) just amplify that fact! It's basically the opposite of Thumper in that respect; it wants you to zone out and so is pretty much the easiest into the screen shooter ever made, where Thumper wants to oppress you with its sound, video and gameplay and so is a particularly challenging title (albeit with no severe punishment thanks to its checkpoint based design).

As an Oculus owner, I must say I'm really impressed with the visual fidelity of PSVR. I remember being a little disappointed with the still noticeable screen door effect on CV1 after having used both the dev kits, but this seems to be another step on, really nice to see.

Totally disagree, I think Rez is tricky, and the number of people stating they enjoyed it previously but never completed it is testament to that.  The difficulty comes in understanding the mechanics and its so easy to die at a boss a few times until you understand the dangers and then find yourself right back at the beginning of the level.

Interesting....very interesting. I have a really sharp eye (for an old eye) for visual details I think so I'm really looking forward to seeing the differences between PSVR and Rift. Just need my dang camera to arrive and then I can pretent to be on a conference call for 4-5 hours or so :)

Are there any kinf of horrible updates awaiting me when I plug the unit in. I'm on a middle of nowhere internect connection so I still have a few hours before the demo pack thing finished downloading. Could do without a 3 hour wait when I eventually plug it in.

Still a little narked that I can't find an extension cable for the camera available anywhere. At least a new one should be releasing in a few weeks. In the meantime I think I'm going to have to lug my super heavy coffee table into the middle of the room to put the camera on each time I want to use it.

What's the cable length on  the headset, anyone know off the top of their heads? (no pun intended)

Agree but it's probably true for Wiper. Always imagined him to be a gaming barbarian.

Thought I was going crazy! :)

I get exactly the same effect in the SuperHyperCube demo - when the glowing red filaments of light move past my face, I get a weirdly warm sensation, as though a hot thing is passing by!

I should mention that this is just from a very quick 30 second go (literally) I had this morning before having to leave for work. From what I've heard, it falls down on the tracking front when compared to the more expensive PC headsets, so there are positives and negatives, but considering the price point I can already tell it's a decent piece of kit.

Looking forward to having a proper go later, and I'm also very interested to hear your thoughts as well!

EDIT: Another thing I noticed was that there seems to be less light creep with the PSVR headset compared to the Rift. I think the nose flaps really help with that.

Yep, I'm not sure if I ever completed it, I guess I did but just  It's been a while as I only ever played it previously on Dreamcast through VGA back when I had a ceiling mounted projector......so very much looking forward to going back in.

Yep, I'm expecting the tracking to not be as good and the Move controllers to be no touch, but hopefully on par with my Razer Hydra which gets the job done.

The nose leek in the Rift can be very distracting during the day...doesn't phase me too much as I normally use it at night, but with the PSVR I will be playing in the lounge so any lack of light coming in has to be a good thing :)

I wonder if the tracking can be improved down the line with a better camera or maybe some way of adding a second camera?

Yes - there is an update for the PSVR itself and then both the demo disc and VR Worlds have updates to download (and big ones).  So get started early if you can!

My wife thinks it's hilarious to scare me when I'm in VR.

My girlfriend also thinks it's hilarious. I told her to stop as I'll either have a heart attack or lash out and neither of those sound particularly appealing.

She said it was worth the risk.

Has anyone who has experienced the screen drifting noticed whether it has ever gone to the right before?  My unit always creeps to the left (especially when on the dashboard/non vr environment) and never ever to the right.

Always left for me,  and only in the ps4 menu or in the DriveClub menu.
