Apologies if already answered, but will PS3 Move controllers work with this or is there some special PS4 version I need?

Mate from work has a pair of PS3 one's he said he'll lend me.

They're the only move controllers. Make sure you have a mini-USB cable as well, to sync/charge them.

I really thought Battlefront was a weak arse battlefield game but I'm not sure I can not buy it again just for the VR mission. Surely it would make loads more sense to release it stand alone. I guess they have a quota of games they can't stamp the name on.

if done right it could be the pinochle of VRs existence.

Just wish it was taking down a Death Star.

The really important thing for space combat games is that they don't  make you tumble endlessly to shoot the enemy. For me ,the Eve demo did this. The original x wing and Starlancer let you get behind people and shoot them in a much more satisfying way.

Starlancer was was a great game.

You know what would be really great for VR? The good old interactive movie type of games.

For example, courtroom drama. Think Phoenix Wright, but with better graphics, and fewer bad haircuts. They could utilise the microphone so you can ask one of four questions that appear in your view, with perhaps a delay on accepting what you say in case the recognition gets it wrong. You could have a face button for each dialogue option to select the correct one if it does mistake what you say.

Criminal Investigation/CSI stuff would be amazing (we've already had a good example of that in Batman).

I'm also really looking forward to Star Trek Bridge Crew, I really hope that's as good it should be.

Danganropa Vr is coming

Possed for the best spelling of "pinnacle" I have ever seen :)

Also Battelfront is about £15 now, you should get it again.

Just head over to the VR section and download the VR demo and the Playroom VR, and search for allumette which is free.

Perfect, thanks, Already have allumette on the Rift (which is just lovely, isn't it?), will grab those others now.

Managed to snag a new Move twin pack for a tenner more than RRP, which in the scheme of things didn't feel too bad,

Brilliant! I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Coming from the Rift I have just been so impressed by the PSVR. Both are fantastic bits of kit but Sony have nailed the most important factor - user experience. The comfort, the styling, the move controllers all get one up on the Rift but the wealth of great experiences right out of the box (thanks to the demos) is the killer app. As someone said earlier, the attach rate to this thing must be phenomenal. As long as the hardware sales reach significant numbers then devs will have to sit up and take notice.

Really, it's the software in the end that tipped me. Obviously when Touch comes I know that will give the best motion control option. However, PC is in mancave / office, PS4 is under the TV...and reports on Batman, Playroom, Until Dawn (just my type of game) and Tumble had me needing to scratch that itch. I'm hoping a bit on Keep Talking may also go down well...much easier than trying to gather people round the desk in my office.

As I'm a significant distance from TV to my sofa, anyone know the cable length on the camera? And can the camera go below the TV? (I'm assuming yes, as my plan is to pull the camera out and put it on the coffee table when using it).

Pinochle is a card game, a kind of variant of Whist/Bridge. Maybe that was the analogy he was going for. Then again, maybe not.

Under TV has been fine for me.

For those that just bought one, I think if you go to settings -> devices, you can then select PS VR and start downloading the update ahead of time. Might be worth a try at least. I heard reports of a 6gb patch but it installed instantly for me. I'm not sure if I managed to preload it somehow.

Other tips: Go to the US store and download demos from there. They have a ~38gb file with about 18 demos packaged together. You'll spend hours just on that alone.

Can I use one Move and one controller in some games, or do I have to splash out for a second Move?

Move controlled games mostly can be played with one, although you are missing out as you will only see one hand on screen. I don't think you can mix and match with a dual shock, I didn't see that option anyway. No point compromising when you are spending that much money in first place.

Ok, so it seems like camera extension cables are like gold dust (until some release on the 8th November). So if anyone wants to sell one they are not using you know where to come :)

Now I have to tell the Mrs about the impulse purchase and convince her we need to sit a couple of metres closer to the TV for a month!

Thanks for the heads up. I think I have US PS4 account set up, if not will do that. Are they different demos to the UK, or just all packaged together?

The UK one is 31gb so I think there might be some demos missing but I'm not entirely sure. It might just be that the US version went up first so people preloaded that. If you can it's worth downloading as many individually as possible just because it does take 30 seconds to boot the demo disc (and from that menu you then have to load the game you want to try). After each demo it kicks you back to the demo discs menu.

Kicked off all the demo downloads.

Just off into work for 2 hours to show face, then by this evening I intend to be sitting in my pants, in a pool of my own piss, playing PS VR until my brain breaks.

Make sure you pick up playroom VR as well as the demo disc stuff.  Then play Robot Rescue!

This is going to be very interesting to try after having a Rift for 6 months (and now with a 1080). I'm going in expecting some compromises for sure, but also some advantages (comfort maybe, although to be honest I find the Rift VERY comfortable).

Also, I'm expecting zero sickness, as I got over that a long time ago...although that assumes as I'm immune in one VR device I will be immune in them all!

Looking forward to your impressions.  I had a brief go on Rift with touch contrtollers in game the day I bought my PSVR.  Took it home expecting it to be far inferior, but I actually felt it sold the full VR to me in a way the Rift didnt.  Or maybe was just the fact I was stood up in a shop playing a very limited game (some sort of Warlock thing throwing fireballs).  PSVR just seemed much more immersive.
