I think if a year ago you'd asked me if I'd pay 330 quid (Amazon student discount sorry) for an arcade cabinet of a house of the dead game I'd have bitten your arm off. On that basis alone I think PSVR justifies the layout with Until Dawn Rush of Blood.

I just rolled in drunk af and played it for an hour and enjoyed the experience so much. If anything this tech should trigger the resurgence of the light gun rail shooter because it's so much fun.

Anyway I'm drunk af as previously stated and I'm up for work at 5..

Night night!

Great to see others see the possibility for the resurgence of the light gun shooter. I've been harping on about this since the day I got my Rift...it's such a perfect fit with mistion controls and the sense of scale etc.

I'm still amazed at how bored Giant Bomb looked while playing Rush of Blood. After 15 minutes of Dan shooting wildly (and missing almost every shot), Drew flatly asked him "is this even fun?" and Dan replied "it's ok, but after this I'm never going to touch it again." How on earth can you have that reaction? Especially when Jeff was going on about how amazing a new TIme Crisis would be. Brad made a half-assed defence of the game but got shot down and didn't really try after that. Yes, it's "just" a light gun game but based on the demo (I'm still waiting for my Amazon copy) it's a good one.

So yeah, the morale of that story is not to trust Giant Bomb for any of their VR coverage. I don't know if they're all just jaded fucks (I constantly swing back and forth on that) or if they've just been playing VR for so long (at least a couple of years of E3 demos etc) that it's lost all novelty and just become a bit of a chore. Either way, having played a lot of what they've previewed I've found that I've almost universally disagreed with what they think.

Just watched Allumette. Standing up, leaning in and generally being able to survey the scene from almost any angle really shows off the technology. When their little ship floats by I tried peaking in the top and of course I could see everything going on inside. Also just leaning in to get a close up view of proceedings is utterly wonderful.

It all works so well. The tracking on the headset has been flawless for me.

the GB coverage is pretty depressing to be honest. I'm surprised they can come out of the launch lineup with pretty much nothing but "Rez is nice"

Until Dawn just claimed it's first major casualty.

I knocked my lamp off the table when that bitch in level 3 jumped up at me. Still it could have been worse, I had a cup of tea right next to it.

This game is so intense. It had my heart racing, I was panting and sweating. I might have uttered a few fucks more than once as well.

What a game, it's a steal at under fifteen quid on amazon.

I don't get how it's receiving sixes and lower everywhere. Yes it's just a light gun game but it's so much more. It loses a little of the jump factor on repeated plays, but the waves of enemies and bosses are solid as fuck. It's a steal at its price point, I'd have been happy if it was £30

Four days in and I'm still feeling a bit unwell. It was worse yesterday, not too bad this morning and back again with a vengeance after a quick dabble of DriveClub / a full level of Thumper and a couple of matches of RIGS. VR is hugely impressive but I'm not going on like this indefinitely.

You really need to step away for a while. I found that my VR legs improved if I stopped for a week or more, then went back again. It's almost like my body / mind figured it out when not playning! And now after 6 months with the Rift I have no VR sickness at all.

How many games are you all buying? I've bought about six so far. That's the worst thing about It, because they're all such a new experience I want to play everything.

Hopefully a high attachment rate means devs flood to it.

It was interesting to listen to Will Smith on this week's Bombcast talk about how VR hardware numbers are really not what investors were expecting this time last year, but that he expects PS VR will mean the number of people with VR setups will be a multiple of what it was before it launched.

Hopefully it'll be the biggest VR platform out there and see lots of support.

I just got the impression Jeff went into the whole thing ready to shoot it down. He'll say he has no stake in it and doesn't care but for the last 3 or so years it seems to me he's pro PC master race.

Sometimes he was almost like one of those players that go down in the box and call for a penalty every time something cropped up.

Its not perfect for sure but I prefer GBeast anyway :P

I've got battlezone  coming from Tesco ( £18 with vouchers ) and I am seriously considering rigs . I preordered drive club and I picked vr worlds.

I think I'm gonna get rush of blood and maybe one other £15 job and then wait for rigs to drop.

I've got Rigs and Until Dawn, plus Batman downloading now. I want to get Job Simulator next I think, plus Eve, Battlezone and a load others at some point. But what I've got now is enough for now with the demos as well. Oh yeah Star Trek's coming in December too.

So I tried DriveclubVR demo again and I really want to like it but I just can't. The resolution is just too low to be comfortable to be staring down the road. When I first played I thought it was a reaction from me being unable to focus properly, but it's the game that is too much of a strain. Such a shame because I really want a good driving game in VR.

I really want Job Simulator, Super Hyper Cube and Thumper but I think they're all a bit expensive (not so much thumper but I'm not sure how much I'll like it) and they've not got physical copies available so I think I'm going to wait for a sale. I've got lots to play (both VR and non-VR) so I can wait.

Star Trek looks like a must buy, though.

Regarding Giantbomb, they do seem very jaded over VR. I couldn't take their recent stream seriously because they didn't seem to be giving anything a fair shake. And sitting there complaining and talking about games probably isn't the best way to feel presence. I can't believe they didn't get Drew to try Driveclub with a wheel. Instead they just had Jeff sit there and play it with an analogue stick.

First thing to make me queasy is The Assembly with full dual stick controls. I shan't be doing that again in a hurry :)

I haven't played this, but what's weird is I heard the guy who wrote it (possibly 'directed' it?) speak at a festival this year and he had a really acute sense of what players would and wouldn't tolerate on VR. Seems nuts that this of all games went dual stick.

Not a chance.

Well in terms of reactions all of mine have been overwhelmly positive. My son is obsessed and it's been tough having to really limit how much we let him use it.

Really tempted with the full game of tumblr now after trying the demo. Slightly worried it gets insanely hard though and ruins the fun.

Well I bought REZ so it is now guaranteed to be on PS Plus this month ;)
