Yep, this. All of the review sites seem like jaded twats to me. And I've done VR before, but this is some special stuff. How VR Worlds is under 60% and Batman is around 70% on metacritic boggles my mind. Seriously, fuck the reviewers.

When you go back and watch videos from the likes of Giant Bomb, I don't think you can truly appreciate some of these VR experiences while in a studio chatting away with your mates.

Ah that's how you quote now...

I used to hate playing new games in the office at lunchtime surrounded by game devs picking holes in everything... Not a good environment to see the best in anything.

Strange question I know, but is there a sure fire way that I can experience some kind of queasy feeling? So far I've felt absolutely nothing at all and I feel like I'm missing out a bit. I even spent the last 30 mins messing about trying to do it on purpose, but no matter what I do, from driving stupidly erratically in Drive Club, to spinning all over in Eve Valkyrie or Battlezone or even trying to mess the tracking up so that everything judders I don't feel a thing.

Just once would be enough so that I at least know what it's like.

Ok. Here's the skinny. Here they lie is absolutely astounding. You guys have got to play it. It gets better and better and better the further you play. Some seriously disturbed stuff along with some of the most realistic motion captured people I have ever seen.

It's my game of the launch by a long margin and just watching a stream does not do it the slightest justice. Especially the early parts that people are streaming. I got about an hour 30 in before I decided to take a break. I'm just slightly starting to feel queasy.

Is it scary? Creepy? Unsettling? What kind of run time?

It's creepy, atmospheric, a bit scary. I don't know about the runtime yet. I'm 90 mins in and it's showing no signs of being close to finished. The graphics seem low fidelity like it's using a low rez framebuffer but it's not. It's high rez and choosing a deliberate style. The area I finished this session in is kind of the red light district of hell. Some very, very interesting things so far.

I really don't want to give away any specifics.

I honestly don't know what's going on with the reviews. It's almost as if they are ignoring the VR aspect entirely and just reviewing the game play in respect to a standard 2D experience . Which is a really weird thing to do because the VR universe you are in makes a massive difference. I mean I've watchted the full version of allumette twice and I think it's fantastic, and you do no more than watch it .

So is anyone playing this who also owns a Rift or a Vive. I'm just wondering if it feels like a worthy investment / are you happy with it if you have one of the PC headsets (and a suitably beefy PC to be able to run it really well'?

I did cancel my pre-order as I have a Rift already, but certainly things like Playroom, Until Dawn, Rez, Thumper and Batman have me wanting one (although those last 3 will be on the Rift at some point I hope).

Cheers, that kind of confirmed my thoughts on it. Think it's one I'll wait for a price drop.

Dont get me wrong, it's my favourite game so far. But then, I think I've been waiting for this kind of game and means to play it my whole life.

Multiplayer is insane.

Holy SHIT! Rez demo is amazing, I'm buying this tomorrow! The sense of presence is amazing you feel you're their flying through space with these seemingly huge enemies flanking you and then with the boss battle turning 180 to see a giant running behind you...and you carry on firing...squee!!!
See I think PSVR will succeed in not aiming for realism but highly stylised graphics like this, Battlezone or PlayRoom; the fantasy & cartoony stuff looks amazing and can still deliver a huge sense of presence and scale, it's like your playing your dreams or summat. I agree with someone on here who said it's like having your own private theme park, it really is :D:D:D

I really like that Playroom bit with the toy room and capsule grabber machine, it's so simple and innocent I love it! I just got a train thing and watching it whiz around roof of the room gave me the biggest smile haha it keeps my inner Ryo happy

I'm batman, bitches!

I mean, did everyone else do bat-poses in the bat-mirror?

Did everyone else do the...

Oh god oh god oh god!

I'm batman and I don't want to be. Its so oppressive. So many spoilery questions, about the apple and the window. Penguin's a pwoper caahnt, into he?

I took the headset off after taking a step into act 3 scene 2 and seeing a pipe sticking out of a wall. A pipe, right there, sticking out.

My nose was hurting, and I had a stuck pixel earlier, which was annoying, but seems to have cleared itself.

BATMAN.

if I have one complaint about batman it's that you don't actually travel

to locations in the batmobile . But there is so much to love

please dont open this until you have played it ...

The opening when you are appropriatly sized to your parents, when you suit up, when you pick up the test tubes . When you run the analysis , when you realise that the riddler parts in the case files are 3D puzzles to solve , picking up the pad and the model infront of you transfers to the pad . When you see that the eyes of the full size model follow you, When you see the nightwing fight happening in front  of you , when you solve the cage puzzle and killer croc turns up, when you are in the ever shifting room and eventually become the joker.

its just an absolute masterpiece of demonstration of what VR can be .

@Zombait The Wipeout track with two racers whizzing around is my fave Playroom 'teddy picker' prize. Such a lovely piece of software throughout. And Robot Rescue is just pure wub.

This is one of the best things in VR! The attention to detail in the animations of each capsule figure is brilliant and nearly every capsule is a reward.

The whole toy aspect of the Playroom VR really works and is just so bloody adorable. I hope the team responsible can flesh out something to a more meaty title.

No you didn't, your quote box wouldn't go away, so I wrote that.

Sorry for the confusion.

On the text box tool bar there is a button that looks like a blank page click it to clear your box. It works on mobile too.
