Guys, guys, guys: SPORTS BAR VR IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Learn from me: It initially looks like you can't get past step 2/5 of the tutorial where it tells you where to stand. Step 1 has a clearly defined end to it which then moves you on to step 2. Step 2 doesn't have that, though, so I was stepping in and out of the circle a gazillion times thinking I was doing something wrong or the game was fucked. Turns out that you have to manually move that screen on. To do this, select the menu with triangle on one of your moves and then point at the arrow and hit the T button to move on.)

Can everyone buy these please, and then we can have a dedicated rllmuk room. It'd be incredible. So much fun just messing around with pool balls and throwing darts. The air hockey is awesome. Didn't actually play a proper game of pool as playing about was so much fun.

Regarding the tracking issues I'd heard about, I didn't have any as long as I didn't turn 180 degrees from the camera. There's a thing called 'Hulk Mode' which allows you to turn without moving in real life. I suggest doing this if you're having trouble lining stuff up.

I tried to put my hand on the table so often. Instinct.

If you have a stool or something similar height to a pool table you can actually lean on the table. Works amazingly with Pool Nation (same game, rebranded for PSVR) on the Vive. It even allows you to change your table height so it matches whatever you're leaning on in real life, not sure if the PSVR one lets you do this?

I ponder often if getting the Rift and diving headfirst into the wonder that is VR is my most pleasurable gaming moment...and seeing all the impressions in here makes me think it probably is. Certainly the last time I had that kind of giddy excitement to that level was with Mario 64e. However that was only one game, this is a whole new way of playing.

Part of me is sad I cancelled my PSVR pre-order as the software seems to be ticking lots of boxes, but with so much to still play on the Rift, and the Touch controllers coming soon (which in turn will lead to a flood of software purchases for both Touch and Vive then I couldn't quite justify it.But t's great to read all of these happy impressions and I can't wait until some of the non or timed exclusives head in my direction.

Just tried the Wayward Sky demo. Very impressed though the tracking was bad. Or at least bad considering I've had ZERO issues before. It was doing the swinging movement thing that made people sick. It's just annoying to me and didn't make me feel bad one bit. Using a controller for the hand wasn't as smooth as it has been. I felt the tracking on the controller was being lost. Maybe it's just not optimised for a controller.

The game looked like one of the best I've seen in the headset with clean visuals and the gameplay was cool, if only the controller felt better.

Tried Headmaster. That's pretty great. The level of accuracy is pretty impressive.

I have a 0.5 prescription on my left eye and 0 on my right so it's pointless me wearing glasses however for VR I think I might be a good idea to looking to getting some kinda lense that would sit on top of the headset lenses just to sharpen the image that bit more. It also doesn't help I have Blepharitis which upsets the balance of oils and liquids in my eyes which can in turn affect focus on a very small but sometimes noticeable level. If the oils don't move (in the colder weather) like they should the I can get blockages which create tiny zit like things on my eye lid. They aren't a problem except when you really want that pinpoint precision like using a VR headset you eyes are producing more tears or not enough tears, kinda annoying.

Also I really really wish the store or PlayStation home screen or the PlayStation quick menu actiually moved when you moved your head. I mean move like in the 3D way because just having the screen there floating is really unsettling. It's like someone standing really close to you, you lean back or take a small step away, imagine not being able to do that. Wierd.

VR is cool!

Quick Q: Does anyone else find that if things are pretty close say a rendered controller at normal holding distance it's slightly out of focus, details look a bit hazy. Same for things in game that are in the distance beyond the main focus of the play area such as a tree, it's as if you were looking through the shimmer of a heat haze. I'm just trying to get a handle on what's normal and if I have it set up properly :D Thanks.

Yes that's normal. Someone mentioned it's because it's a fixed focus unit. I wonder if it's just the software not focusing on what you actually looking at and keeping it focus in the medium view.

some games are super blurry. I can't help feel that Playroom VR could be capable of so much more if they ditched the dual screen ting they have going on.

Have you calibrated for the distance between your eyes? It's in settings>attached devices > psvr . Get a tape measure handy cos the 70cm distance is quite crucial

Batman . Of everything I have tried that's the one that made me say "holy fucking shit" at least once every two minutes .its not a game as such , but my god it's unlike anything I have ever experienced .

Pretty much this.

My first computer was a Commodore +4. I played the likes of Fire Ant, Treasure Island, and Centipede on a 14" TV.

But for me, I think a fair comparison would be the arrival of the Amiga. A really great machine, with great games at launch and (hopefully) many more to come. But it has its issues, some of which are handled better by the more powerful (and wildly more expensive) PC.

Ha I wa thinking that the closest thing would be seeing defender of the crown or the juggler demo on the Amiga for the first would be the nearest comparison . That was a massive leap from speccy and c64

If you have two move controllers get Batman and make him rub his nipples in the mirror

So I got batman, and set it to "download to my ps4" via the website.

My PSVR came on (white light), and auto-switched the hdmi switcher, but the PS4 is still on orange light standby.

Anyone know if there's a power setting I need to access?

Just tried Hatsune Miku. I actually thought it was cool lol

The tambourine actually reacted to how hard I was tapping the controller. What a bizarre game.

Again great image quality. The better the image quality the better the game IMO.

Not sure if she passed or failed the Barbie doll test though....

I'm just back from an evening chatting, playing pool and mucking about.

HOLY SHIT GET SPORTS BAR VR.

It's not the best simulation or game, but its sense of presence with others online is fucking amazing. This is what VR will add to social.

I never thought I'd day this but PS Home has died too early. It would have been perfect for PSVR.

PlayroomVR is fantastic, Nintendo quality experiences and great for family and friends. Can't believe it's free would have paid for it!

I played the demo of driveclub on the pad on the first night and it made me a little queezy. Played the full game for an hour last night with the wheel. Omg it was amazing no sickness at all. It's a shame the visual quality is so low but it's sold me on a ps4 pro assuming it gets the bump it need to crisp it up a bit.

Waiting for replacement batteries for my aging move controllers so I can get batman.

In all PSVR knocks it out of the park for me spent hours playing various games and experiences last night without the headset bothering me at all. I couldn't do that with the vive it's just not comfortable enough for hours of play.

It's the little details like the thin cable between you and the floor to reduce the head weight. Then breaking out into something more robust to get trodden on. Then there's the slider so you can pull it away from your face to find the pad, text a friend ... Genius addition that puts the PSVR well ahead if the rift or vive. Obviously the vive wins on the tracking side if things but I personally know how to avoid issues with the camera so its rarely a big issue.

In all its a winner for me.

Batman is my least favourite experience so far. Not bad but it felt like the first level of a game they couldn't be bothered to make the rest of.

It's also a bit cheap that the screen goes blank while you're in the vehicles going to a new area. I wanted to see that!

Whats there is good, though, and I only have maybe £6 worth of buyer's remorse.

Yet again absolutely no sickness.

Has anyone got the full game of Eve yet? if so any opinions? The demo was amazing but fear it may be a bit of a one trick pony, especially for the insane price.

Yeah I have it. I reckon you could get through the single player stuff in a two hour sitting easy.  Obvs that's not ideal.  But, I think it's geared up as an arena MP shooter.

I'm loving it, but I'm loving the one trick right now. It is too expensive though, without a doubt. Hoping it gets some imminent expansions (Occ Rift is actually getting new content soon so...).

I paid £42 from Shopto, I don't  regret it but I can see why most wouldn't pick it up due to the cost.

Edit: just checked the EV site, all future DLC is free. So, let's hope they make some. :D

I appear to have no issues playing RIGS now. The queasiness has disappeared.

The after match bit on the train where the hologram of the MVP pops up on the table never ceases to amaze me. It's just so tangible, I always want to grab it.

Cheers, that kind of confirmed my thoughts on it. Think it's one I'll wait for a price drop.

To all those criticising the tracking, play with the settings screen, change the position of the camera, turn down (or switch off) halogen , led, flickering lights.

Seriously when its set up correctly there is no jitter, no tracking issues, its perfect

, far better than I ever got from the Rift.
