I was hoping this was going to be shit so I don't have to get one but everyone seams to love it

Sigh

Need to justify this to the missus now:unsure:

She's pregnant and very angry at everything

Wish me luck

Good bye Hogg, nice knowing you...

lol mate. If we get 4k headsets you're gonna need more than a PS4Pro.   You'd need more than the best PC graphics cards available right now.

Until someone nails 100% eye tracking for the majoirty of the population (and as such, enables foveated rendering), it's going to be a long wait..

When I say 4K I'm talking Sonys version 4K as in that resolution I can't remember before the checkerboarding upscale to 4K on PS Pro games. Is it 1440p ? That's got to be doable at least

Dont worry headphones and headset on and she can be angry while you're somewhere else

That's still a fairly massive jump. I think the majority would rather things looked better at the current resolution for a while.

So half day has been booked this morning.  Looks like I will be taking up that Argos order I made last night.

Somebody hold me...

I have the rabbit foot, i repeat I have the rabbit foot. (Waiting on bus, the future isn't as glamorous as I thought it was going to be)

in other news I also tried an oculus demo at lunchtime in game (free), using some hand controllers which apparently are not out until Christmas. I was a warlock and throwing fireballs at 200 feet high snakes. It was amazing. Bad news I felt a bit sick after and there was zero movement in the game!!! I hope it was just a reaction to the stinky shop.

hyped

Played all the demos now - really good package and well put together

I didn't have any adverse reactions to any of them and the only headset tracking issues were on Allumette but I was trying to put my head inside stuff and around stuff. I don't have move controllers and everything I played or could play worked fine even though you do lose some functionality in some.

I now have to decide what to buy :D Too much choice on launch of a "new console"? Who would've thought it!

DRIVECLUB™ VR - Blurry and lowres but it is a great racing game only £16 upgrade for me so I think that is a no brainer.

RIGS™ Mechanized Combat League - Surprisingly didnt make me throwup and wow the clean crisp colourful arena suits PSVR down to the ground. Looks fantastic , learning curve looks to be a bitch though and it is easy to become disorientated as you look at a bad guy to shoot and tyou arent looking out of the front and you get confused as to what direction you are going. I canb't really afford loads of £50 games and I really want to be digital but this goes on my wishlist.

PlayStation® VR Worlds - Loved ocean descent superb presence and the shooting bit works fine with dualshock. Quite limited demo so not sure whether I will pick it up or not

Tumble VR - brilliant little puzzle game and works/handles just fine with dualshock.

Until Dawn™: Rush of Blood - Fucking terrifying, absolutely shit scary. Dualshock means you have two guns in hand at fixed places so not as flexible as move but it worked fine for me. I will look into how long the main game is compared to demo sequence before I pay out.

Here They Lie - Hmmmm not sure. It did scare me but it was very muted/blurry. What did surprise me is left stick controlled movement and yet I didn't get a hint of feeling weird about that.

Battlezone® - Similar to Rigs this feels like a real standout, beautiful crips colourful graphics and a solid feel in play. Again the pricetag means it goes on my "soon" list.

EVE: Valkyrie - too short a demo but I was impressed with the movement and shooty action. I won't pay out full price based on that demo though.

Headmaster - Fun game definitely worth a try , don't dismiss it cos it looks like a minigame thing. Has a lovely subversive sense of humour twist. Has persuaded me to investigate more and see about price vs longevity.

Wayward Sky - Another surprise, it is a point and click and it looks magnificent , again bright colours and crisp graphics are the key. Some nice gameplay mechanics and it is leapt up to my wishlist I think!

Harmonix Music VR - Its a music visualiser, quite fun in the dancing part and I couldtnt do the Easel part without Move controllers. Limited appeal to me. Looks good though.

Job Simulator - Can't play it without Move controllers

Rez Infinite - It's Rez in VR - instabuy.

Thumper - Close to instabuy it is high up my wishlist. Lovely trance like feel and great reactive gameplay.. rhythm violence is right!

Allumette - An utterly bewitching short, full of beautiful magical touches and packed full of detail I loved it.

Just had a stupid idea.

connect iMac to PSVR via thunderbolt hdmi

boot windows

use Freetrack for head tracking of the lights on the headset

load up DCS World and enjoy headtracking in cinema mode

if enjoy would be the right expression.

Its a dumb idea but would be fun to see if it worked. At worst I would have to rig up some IR leds to the headset with a 9v and break out the 360 vision camera with IR lenses filter removed.

I could almost accept releases dying out beyond this launch window. Today I'm all about Tumble, a title that I dismissed altogether before release.

It's the day after launch but this isn't Reboxing (and returning) Day. There is no sickness. There is no buyers remorse. :o

Does Rigs make everyone feel sick or did they get around it somehow. Really hoping it don't make you sick as it seems it will be really fun.

I get an uneasy feeling from it but the demo was that good I bought a full disc copy at lunch time. It's the game I'll use to try and adapt to VR a bit more.

I wanted Battlezone as well but at £50 it was a no go.

Just topped up £40 on my PSN account to spend this weekend, and I had about £7 on there anyway.

I think Rez is going to be a definite, but other than that there's so much that I don't know what to buy.

Thumper, Tumble VR, Waddle Home are all on the shortlist. Shame SuperHyperCube is so expensive. It's a lot of fun, but the demo is very limited.

That Mario type 3D platform (forgot the name of it) on VR Worlds is amazing!!!

So much better when you're 'in' the game, so many possibilities there.

I haven't even played that yet, but it was such a joy watching my Son play it, he was so amazed and loving it, he just didn't want to turn it off.

Oh man these impressions... I have cancelled pre-order remorse. I've let my 10-year-old self down not putting the money aside for this. Next year then...

I was the same. I cancelled my pre-order thinking I wouldn't have enough.

Sat at work all morning yesterday gutted. So I reserved it at Argos (trying to figure out how I could afford it). Got home from work n mentioned it to the missus so she bought it for me :)

Sorry for posting this here but I figured there might be someone interested... I went a bit mad and bought more games than I have time to play, does anyone fancy a sealed copy of Rigs for £38 delivered? (what I paid + postage).
