I had to take a shower from all the sweats - that were caused by setting this thing up and the cable management.

Then I got out of that shower, went straight to DriveClub like a fearless, hard-as-nails mofo and finished the race without being sick once!

I don't even mind the DC graphics.

This is so happening. RIGS next!

The head tracking in Rez is pretty phenomenal. Totally elevates an already magnificent game!

God knows how I'll react when I unlock Area X!

Also goes to show how strong some of the titles are that I haven't even tried Driveclub yet!

Working great apart from I'm sure I need to remove film from the lenses, but there aren't any.

I see a pattern similar to dirty screen effect when panning on LED tv's. Is this normal?

If it is I'll accept it I guess, but it does look like someone else said....it's like looking through a thin bit of cloth.

Is the screen door effect where it looks like you are looking through a pair of american tan tights? Because yeah, during that Until Dawn thingy demo, it is pretty atrocious to be honest. But the fact that the game made me shit myself within 2 minutes kind of made up for it :) I really need to stop using a drum stool to sit on though as I'm definitely going to fall off it.

It is the silly things blowing me away though. The haunted house game in Playroom VR, where you are outside in the rain before entering the house, and you look down and see you are wearing an outfit....I'm 52 and shit like that shouldn't give me a shit eating grin. But it does :D

Had a few issues with the virtual controller always starting to go slightly skew whiff, but turned the light bar back up to brightest (goodbye battery life) and it seems better. It also pays to do the headset setup as well where you get it to recognise all the lights on it.

I have the same. It feels like the stickers have left some residue or something.

For people getting fogging lenses, its because the headset is colder than your bonce.  Put it by a radiator, or even on your head above your eyes for 5 mins to get it to your temperature..ta da, no more fog.

Has anyone had headset tracking issues similar to giant bombs? Theirs was drifting forward and back I think

mine is totally rock solid and the controller jitters a little but rarely. I am using it near a desk with no free space etc and it just works without mucking around with lights...

it is a shame that their stream was so negative as I know it put a few off on here.

Mine arrived this morning so I took my PS4 into the office for the afternoon to let people try it out. First thing I loaded was Tumble which had horrendous tracking issues so wasn't a good first impression when I'm so used to the Vive and Rift/Touch (big brightly lit office with reflective things everywhere so very hopeful these issues will be resolved at home). Thankfully after that I tried Battlezone which is insanely good fun.

Watched people try Driveclub, London Heist, Allumette and Job Simulator and people seemed suitably impressed (more importantly some of the higher ups did who I've been trying to convince about VR dev, so fingers crossed).

Must say I'm very impressed with how little the screen door effect is noticeable (far less than the Vive), and it is by far the most comfortable of the 3 HMDs.

Time to set it all up again and try Driveclub with my wheel :D

The more I think about this the more I think it is a marvel. I haven't got move controllers and I am still playing the demos and it is utterly compelling as an experience.

i just hope it gets decent support until the inevitable decline as its and expensive add on :-D

I am pretty resolute in not getting this as it would be 350 + camera and then games, but you lot aren't helping. My local fucking argos still has them, the argos who couldn't stock a simple toy for me 3 months ago have a pile of them ready for picking up. Thank god for gears 4.

The "looking through tights" effect is normal even after you've removed the lens protectors. This called a screen door effect and is basically what you get when you the pattern produced by the screen pixels become obvious. The effect is usually more pronounced in large similarily coloured areas.

With PSVR I found the deep sea dive to make the effect very apparent. When there's more on-screen (colours, patterns, etc.) it is easier to ignore.

But no, your headset isn't faulty, this comes with the virtual territory. (Unfortunately.) Will probably be solved when we get 32K VR screens or something similar. If it bothers you immensely, I'd suggest skipping VR entirely at the moment.

First impressions tonight were mixed. I struggled to get the headset on and in position and then realised that it really, really doesn't like big headphones. I switched to some in ear ones and the set fit perfectly.

Ocean Decent first and it was amazing. I kept wanting to reach out and touch things. Then a level of rez. Also amazing. I played some Gunjack (Simple but fun), VR Luge, Drive Club and then that scavenger thing.

So far nothing has made me even slightly quesy. Parts of rez made me feel wobbly in a great way. Gunjack has a couple of seconds during the intro where my inner ear got a bit dizzy and turning on the stick in Scavenger was just weird. No chundering yet though which is a great sign. Ultimate test next. I'm downloading Here They Lie.

Rock solid head tracking for me so far. Controller tracking (In the kitchen demo especially) was the expected juddery. I'll try tumble tomorrow night with my move controllers and see how it goes.

The biggest issue I see with the tech is one I suspect the Pro was partly built for. It's very low rez. For most stuff it's not really that much of a negative (And Rez positively shines) but for games that are trying to look more realistic like Drive Club and something like VR Luge it's really noticable. Good job I have a pro preordered :)

One drawback to wearing glasses that sit very close to my face is that I have to clean them after every session :)

You got 2? And promos?  Are you a GAME manager? Every manager gets a free VR, PS Pro and Xbone S.

No the games are rentals from Boomerang Rentals.

I got two because I forgot to cancel the Game one before they started packing it. Gonna return it (they do 30 days in store returns).

Ok the shooting gallery on London heist is worth 350 schmeckles it's like you hoped the greatest shooting game you ever played would be back in the lightgun days but you can move around and shit ah shit it's fucking lush

I've been harping on about how the Vive and Rift (when Touch comes) are like wet dream for light gum game fans for ages to anyone who will listen (which is mostly no-one). I've been sad since light gun gaming essentially vanished....and now it's back, and with aplomb!

For me, tracking issues have been directly linked to the distance between me and the camera. I have the camera on a table in the middle of the room now and its fantastic. It took a while for my brain to realise that I dont need to sit any distance from the TV, its the camera that is the issue and I can stick that anywhere .

Robot rescue is just wonderful. No idea how to find 6 of the robots, and how do you get to the one under the hot air balloon?

Blown away by this. All negativity is gone.  Needs a demo unit in every shop and a good stock supply and a cheap bundle including camera and move controllers. Its a bit too unwieldy to be mass market, but having everything you need in one box would be a massive help.

That's what they will do, as soon as all is lot have got one.
