Absolutely loved the last couple of eps of Daisy Jones, thought it really nailed the descent of the band very well and set up a satisfying conclusion. Only mis-step for me in the whole thing really was the episode in Greece, which I found a bit silly and just killed the momentum of the thing (maybe that was the point and how the band felt too).

I'm really torn as to whether they should make any more (unconfirmed at present), on the one hand there is a clear and obvious route to go down which they hint at, but this just felt so well formed, the music and era so well realised, that I don't want them to make more and spoil it.

I’m such a wuss these days. That last episode of Daisy Jones And The Six had me in floods of tears at the end.

Yup rather annoyingly I think I got some dust in my eyes during the last 10 minutes.

I have absolutely loved this show from start to finish, the acting, the story, the setting, the music, the production values all just spoke directly to me.

Just like @Gotters I am torn as to whether they should just leave well enough alone in case they ruin it against my desire to see more.

They have the whole 80’s to survive through should they opt for a second series, and there has to be plenty of mileage in that.

They're finally making decisions on what to raid from the MGM cupboard.

Legally Blonde: Film and potential TV series.

Stargate: Film and TV. Film probably first.

Robocop: Film and TV. TV probably first.

TV for Fame, Barbershop and The Magnificent Seven.

Film for Thomas Crown Affair and Pink Panther. The latter maybe animated.

They had already announced an expansion of Creed across film and TV. They've also just announced a first-look deal with Stallone and his Balboa Productions. There's word that expanding Rocky to TV may be part of that. Kind of weird that being a separate deal when it's Creed's mothership.

We watched the first two episodes of Dead Ringers yesterday. Wow! Amazon finally have a good show, other than The Boys and Mr Robot.

Rachel Weisz plays twin obstetricians - with great success, I must say. She threads a needle between campy theatrics and subtle believability between the two characters, in a way that’s riotously entertaining, yet when both characters are on screen at the same time it feels entirely natural, with no trips to uncanny valley.

Weisz is clearly the main event, but I’m only two episodes in and the story is yet to get started. It’s based on a David Cronenberg movie of the same name which I haven’t seen, but plan to once I finish this. I honestly haven’t seen Rachel Weisz having this much fun in anything before, it’s wonderful.

I’m also two episodes in. Very impressed so far. Weisz is fantastic.

As the old saying goes - if you don’t know it, get to know it:

Also Too Old to Die Young is a Prime show, so watch that too.

Watching the final series of The Marvellous Ms. Maisel and I have to say it's the best series yet.

For some reason the overindulgence of the show really works in this season, the recreation of the TV chat show and the writers room is astonishingly well done. The attention to period detail is impeccable but the writing this season is just perfect. Each conversation is a masterwork.

Is anyone watching The Power? Cracking series. I loved the book on which it’s based.

Basic synopsis is that teenage girls all start developing the ability to generate electricity, and it tracks the lives of several girls and women across the world as they (and society as a whole) come to terms with it.

It examines how things would be if women and girls were no longer afraid of men (in so many subtle and less subtle ways), and how men would react if they no longer wield the power they do.

Looks fantastic, and they’ve recreated all the international locations beautifully, each with their own feel. The east end of London, a fictional Eastern European country, the Bible Belt, Namibia, etc.

Performances are excellent - Toni Collette as an ambitious politician, Little Simz as an abused foster child, Ria Zmitrowicz as a cocky as fuck daughter of an East End gangster.

Highly recommended.

Anyone who was watching the amazing Halt and Catch Fire on this before it disappeared, it’s now on All4.

Cheers Zok. I had it on my watch list on Prime and they removed it just before I was about to give it a start.

I really wanted to like this but just didn’t do it for me. Think I got about 4 episodes in. I found Ria Zmitrowicz’s character and her brothers bloody annoying. It had some nice touches but was also so on the nose at times.

Holy fucking shit, is anyone else watching Jury Duty on the ad-supported channel Freevee? It’s astonishingly funny.

One member of the general public is an unwitting participant in a fake court case - a comic farce - as a jury member. He thinks he’s a juror - he is not - and his fellow jurors are all actors… as is the judge, the defendant, the lawyers and the bailiff.

Honestly, this is riotously funny. James Marsden plays a slightly ridiculous, vain version of himself - and he’s tame compared to the rest of the juror characters. Taken all together they’re complete chaos. It’s a lot of the comedy of the inappropriate, but it’s also quite sweet and reminds me of Parks & Recreation. The main guy manages to keep a straight face, even as things tip over into the surreal - and makes it all the more satisfying.

I’m 2 episodes in. Yet to see if it’s going to turn into 12 Angry Men, but I can’t wait to find out.
