Anyone given The Devil's Hour a go?

Watched one and a half episodes. Very very good central performance by Jessica Raine - didn't think she had it in her to be honest - and some of the cinematography is lovely. It's not necessarily my kind of thing - horror thriller - but I think it's going to get quite Dark City. Oh - think my partners about to put second episode back on.

We've just finished Devil's Hour.

Spoiler

Thought it was great up to the last episode, which was basically an hour of Capaldi explaining the plot. Even then, the performances mostly carried it. Right up until the last couple of minutes, which seem to bin off the character we know and all the loose ends and just switch over to a different version of her? Bit disappointing.

Also lol at cartoon manbaby husband guy.

Trevor off Eastenders is having a good year isn't he?

Now I like to think that I would only go to bat for actually good, clever movies that critics of taste would concur with, but I’m here to tell you not to go popping off on me when I recommend the 42% on rotten tomatoes Den of Thieves with Gerard Butler, Master Chief, 50 Cent and Ice Cube Jr. It happily rips off Heat, Inside Man and everything else you love, but doesn’t worry too much about a lot of the boring stuff De Niro and Pacino would claim is important, and instead fires way more bullets than them. It’s a lot of fun.

Quick update having watched all six episodes: it’s shite.

Someone I know on Facebook was saying it was our Twin Peaks. It is not. Butterfly Effect 2: Butterfly Harder perhaps.

Delighted to find out this morning that the first three series of the 1980s stop motion The Wind in the Willows, and the feature length film which preceded them, are on Prime if you take out a free Britbox 7-day trial.

The voice cast is superb - Michael Hordern, Richard Pearson, Peter Sallis and David Jason - and it's such a lovely programme

Genuinely considering calling in sick tomorrow to watch it all under a blanket
