Looks like the weather could mess up the final, BBC reporting a reserve day of Monday now.

From a hosting perspective this has been a bit of disaster with the weather and total lack of interest from the locals to provide a crowd, most of the games have been almost like watching pandemic era lockdown sport.

The reserve day also stands a big chance of getting washed out, sadly. They really should put these tournaments in countries that have nicer weather

Oh man! was really looking forward to Sunday we have friends/family popping round early to view the match together. If it does not go ahead on Sunday then it will ruin the whole event everyone is back to work on Monday. 😡 Stupid Weather.

even worse, a reserve day of getting out there for a couple of scrappy overs before the whole thing gets abandoned - complete anticlimax. Unless the weather dudes are spectacularly wrong, I suppose.

Sam Curran is a ridiculously good short form bowler.

Absolutely amazing bowling from Curran. 3-12 off his four, in a World Cup final. Ice in his veins to produce like that on such a stage. He bowled the tough overs as well, in the powerplay and at the death.

 

And, it's started fucking raining.

The thing to do in this situation is to start playing sensibly and trying to get a single off every ball. I'm not sure that's England's style though.

Been a rough week for English international sport (semi-final losses in tennis & rugby league and a WC final loss in rugby union) - are the English cricketers going to add to that list or turn it around? Too close to call right now, needs some boundaries and fast.

The difference in noise is incredible, what a difference a few boundaries make. C'mon England!

What a player of pressure Stokes is, anchored the innings and then pushed when the run-rate was starting to get away from them. And so happy for Buttler too, his Test career may well be done (which is a shame) but he's been one of the best limited over batters we've ever had, and I'm glad to see his captaincy is good too.

Great performance. Feel a little sorry for Pakistan as that injury to Afridi - and the resultant 5 balls from Ikhitab - really changed the game. Fully expected Livingstone to go 6 or out when he came in though 😜

Rough on Afridi that. What a win though! First men's team to hold ODI and T20 world cup trophies at the same time! And somehow that was Ben Stokes first IT20 50!?

 

My VPN was rubbish, the sound was about a delivery ahead of the picture throughout, but so worth it all the same.
