Anybody here with the early access version on Xbox One, and managed to get it to run? Game crashes back to dashboard for me (and lots of others around the internet it seems).

I would have gone for a refund and just waited for tomorrow, but even that option isn't available on the Xbox Account page for some reason.

Couldn't resist a quick 7am go on this and its epic

Bumped up the AI to medium and the driving model too and had a blast racing round a couple of the early single player circuits, there is just so much going on that every race feels special, it shows how the bells and whistles can come from implementing core racing and physics so well.

I love the handling model, loose enough to let you chuck the car into bends. It really feels like something special to me on an initial play, the technical achievement feels pretty big and they've married a proper old fashioned racing game on top of that.

If anyone wants a steam code for £15 then hit me up.

Saw this thread, thought the game looks fun, bought a code, went to Steam. Already owned the game after buying it four years ago and having played it for a grand total of 18 minutes.

It must be better now that it was then as I've since put 3 or 4 hours into it. Single player is OK although starts a bit repetitively, and there is not too much challenge,  but then you get an event that puts you in a Robin Reliant trying to beat 23 school buses and the real potential starts to show. I suspect the real fun is in the multi-player.

Have you still got the spare Steam code?

I received a physical deluxe edition of the game for Xbox One on Saturday and that too fails to run and returns me back to the dashboard.

Hoping it’ll work tomorrow on its ‘release date’

Long shot, but have you tried playing it while not connected to Xbox Live?

I'm on ps4

They've really done a terrific job on this, playing on pc yes frame rates and all that are so much nicer and I enjoyed it very much, but seems far more suited to console. The core of the game, graphics, physics etc are all on par.

Online has been totally stable and so much fun, the beauty is its never over even if you get totally shafted at the beginning, clinging on and avoiding trouble is so exhilarating towards the end of a race especially on courses that double back on themselves. Plus watching some toss pot who took you out at the start to then triple flip into a wrecked lump brings a Grinch smile everytime you lap his stationary flaming wreck.

Give me this over traditional racers any day of the week.

I had to reinstall it at midnight as it did this last night.

I'll take 30fps with that draw distance, number of vehicles and level of destruction all day long - I think this will look & sound amazing on a big screen with good speakers.

Apparently the Pro/X versions aren't enhanced at all, being a PC dev that are 4y in on this game wonder if they'll keep patching and adding to it or they've had enough getting it out the door.

Just hope this sells and finds an audience now as they don't make em like this anymore - there doesn't seem to be a single baseball hat being worn the wrong way round, rap song or social media rep system in sight.

I know, you're absolutely right.

I'd forgotten what jaggies looked like since buying an X. So far,so so. It's allright. I expected the audio to have more impact and the engine sounds aee more of a droning sound. The crashes can look awesome the damage modelling is insane but to win you are actively trying to avoid these so it kinda defeats the purpose of the game. Hopefully multiplayer saves it and adds to the lacking sense of fun.

I might grow to love it in time but based on a couple of hours of single player it's not patch on either of the Forza series. I think my expectations were a little too high.

I think this is joyous and I say that as a lapsed Forza player for both series - it’s removed all the faff and fluff of Horizon that leaves me cold,  and does old fashioned things properly, like letting me able to see the course and track ahead clearly.

Old GRID games used to talk of feeling the pack fighting around you, they never came close to generating the feeling in the way this does.

obvious, but make sure you tweak the cars handling and ai behaviour from  the difficulty settings just before you start a race.

Amateur feels like the default pc setting handling. Car is much more responsive and more chuckable in the corners and slides.

I find a short range gear change gets you off the line far quicker and out of trouble more handy.

this works on the very tight twisty first set of single player circuits but as soon as I got to the second tier there are some much longer more sweeping tracks with faster straights.

I couldn't find a link to check stock on Argos. Only had the pre-order still?

ditto - always the same with Argos on release date and a bloody pain!  They will hopefully update it soon as I can guarantee you it is in stock at the stores.

I spoke to their live chat, and they have said it should show on their website later today.
