It runs OK (just about playable) on my oldi 7 860 PC so the console version potentially should be OK?

I think the issue was and the sole reason for the delay was that they couldn't get it to run at anything like an acceptable level..........

The fact there are no video's is making all potential buyers grip their wallets a little tighter. If someone pipes up on Tuesday morning and says 'it's fine guys' I'll be off to my local gaming emporium faster than you can nerf one of those cars into a roadside awning.

I'm not as familiar with this tech stuff as most people here, but I'm pretty sure that CPU easily shits all over the relatively weak mobile CPUs they put into the XB1 and PS4. So that doesn't necessarily tell us anything I think.

just gone up - not checked it yet for pop up, resolution and 20FPS running

edit - on a quick view it looks like the fears of a total clunker are uncalled for, looks incredibly solid in single player on base PS4 and XB1 in this vid, was always going to be 30FPS with that level of physics and destruction going on, so I'm fine with that.

I'm re-hyped now, looks great fun.

Watched the vid and it's a day one purchase for me!

looked fantastic, really solid banger racing with a very robust graphic/physics engine and satisfying looking handling, and that bonkers multi vehicle mode at the end for a bit of crazy when you fancy it.

it appeared to be everything I was hoping it would.

there seem to be a couple of PS4 copies floating around with a couple of people on youtube streaming or showing events - from what I've seen the graphics and physics look damn good, as does the handling.

probably some inevitable day 1 server issues to contend with but I'm over 'the fear' stage with this.

Blimey, nofolk man is irritating. Ruining what is otherwise a decent game.

My sons been out grafting over the past three days and he'll be sinking his cash into this if I show him a couple of vids. Roll on tuesday!!

Glad to hear this has turned out to be excellent on console. Fingers crossed my PS4 copy turns up on Monday!

And hopefully the console's online mode has seamless matchmaking rather than being server based like it was on PC. But either way, if its half as fun online as Flat Out Ultimate Carnage was, I'll be very happy indeed.

Somehow mine arrived this morning! Played a few hours today and it’s great (PS4 Pro). Handles well, very pretty and raises the odd proper laugh.

Has as a Demolition Derby / Flatout feel to it.

I'll take 30fps with that draw distance, number of vehicles and level of destruction all day long - I think this will look & sound amazing on a big screen with good speakers.

Apparently the Pro/X versions aren't enhanced at all, being a PC dev that are 4y in on this game wonder if they'll keep patching and adding to it or they've had enough getting it out the door.

Just hope this sells and finds an audience now as they don't make em like this anymore - there doesn't seem to be a single baseball hat being worn the wrong way round, rap song or social media rep system in sight.

And in this day and age, that alone should be applauded.

I’m really enjoying it. It very much feels like a throwback game, feels a bit like the game FlatOut could always have been if it hadn’t gone down the boost/arcade route and took a more ‘realistic’ approach instead.

Brilliant news, my dream driving game. FlatOut is one of my favourite Xbox games. I still own it but have no way to play it!

If anyone wants a steam code for £15 then hit me up.

Saw this thread, thought the game looks fun, bought a code, went to Steam. Already owned the game after buying it four years ago and having played it for a grand total of 18 minutes.

It must be better now that it was then as I've since put 3 or 4 hours into it. Single player is OK although starts a bit repetitively, and there is not too much challenge,  but then you get an event that puts you in a Robin Reliant trying to beat 23 school buses and the real potential starts to show. I suspect the real fun is in the multi-player.
