Argh why won't it come out on console

Just a random completely unsubstantiated guess, but loads of physics - far more than any other game I can think of this gen - would mean that it mostly taxes the CPU? Current gen consoles have notoriously weak CPUs, which could mean that they're having trouble getting it running acceptably well? Dunno, but in that case with next-gen not that far off...

I thought it was coming to consoles?

It had a release date of Nov last year but it was mysteriously put back to '2019' without explanation. Whether it ever appears or not is anybody's guess. I hope it does, I was really looking forward to it.

I was looking for info on this the other day, even followed their twitter, its all still vague coming this year and 'we're at a key phase on console dev' messages at present.

Hopefully it will be slick when released but I'd love to get my mitts on it now.

Yeah, unless something gone horribly wrong with console conversions I'm expecting this to be a day1 for me on PS4 Pro, which is hopefully enhanced and hits a good res & framerate.

Looks like a £20 more expensive deluxe version with 20 extra cars and decals plus additional dlc - didn't specify if the dlc is courses or not, £20 sounds a lot to me for cosmetic stuff but will wait and see which version to go for. Top version unlocks couple of days early too.

Did they actually finish the game? I bought it around 25 years ago and it seemed to be abandoned. Glad the console version is coming as I don't even have a pc to play it on anymore.

The PC version is getting a big update on the release day, apparently

The PC version is a complete game I'd say, they did have long periods of silence getting it there, but it got better and then released. Nice that the console gestation period makes for some free DLC. I find the handling and physics wotnot the most convincing of all the driving games I've played, it's really satisfying.

Have to say I bought this early and then left it for a couple of years. When I returned the game was complete and one of the most incredibly fun racers I’ve ever played.

Glorious sequel to flat out, online is so much fun and it has the perfect balance of racing vs bumping and shoving that never feels cheap, and revenge is so sweet on this.

Also hoping this is a good port but waiting for reviews in case the console CPU's have hindered what looks to be physics heavy based gameplay. Also I got fucked off with Flatout making me lose races getting stuck on a random bit of scenery 50 yards from the finish line.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping this isn't flawed in some way but these days there's always a flaw.

I got a bit excited and stumped up for the full digital version - but know what people mean about these kind of games always having a flaw now.

I can live with iffy online but just hoping the offline mode is solid in terms of performance.

I'm hoping the long PC dev cycle, delay to the console versions for polish, and the PS4 Pro extra grunt get this up to scratch.

It's my last great hope for racing games before I give up totally on them.

You wot m8te? GT Sport, monday nights. The end.

Anyway, has anyone had a hands on any of the console versions? if it's even mildly playable I'll happily sink £25 into it. I might just do that anyway....

yeah, no, I'll pass on any of the GT series - bore me rigid.

I am slightly nervous on the console version of this as 1 week out there isn't a video on YouTube or story via google of anybody showing a hands on, which is normally not a good sign.

:(

Yes, there's absolutely squat all out there in terms of info and how it runs. As you say, sets the alarm bells ringing......

But maybe, they'll just release it without any fanfare and ridiculous build up to avoid doing a fallout 76 and tank like mofo.
