Is there a way to increase storage on my Freighter/frigate? I forget which is which. I crafted a load of storage boxes, but it seems like they are just decoration as I can't use the bloody things. I'm getting increasingly annoyed that my massive command ship holds less items than my backpack.

You crafted them on your freighter?

should just be able to transfer items to a new inventory menu called “storage freighter”.

Yeah, crafted them there and thought I'd see a new option as you mention, but there is nothing there.

Found a system with two Paradise Planets. One had fire storms and the other was a sentinel Conservative party HQ. Game be trolling.

They did have some nice S class ships, first I’ve seen in Next. Starting to feel like I’ve seen it all now though. Probably just do some more Base building and that.

I've yet to find a planet without some kind of extreme weather. Before NEXT they were rare, but now seem not existent?

Having to make a little cave every 10 minutes and then sit in it for a few minutes while the storm passes gets a bit old after awhile.

My home world hasn’t. It wasn’t the first world I was told to build a base on though.

There are planets with no storms. I've set up base in the one I posted a video of in the gallery thread. Weirdly it's not a paradise planet, might be verdant.

I installed the thing on my ship that lets me access it's inventory from a distance.

Only I still need to be almost next to it. It's made no difference whatsoever. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Just get yourself an S Class protection module upgrade for your exosuit. My home planet has boiling rainstorms, I just ignore them now. Even without my powered thermal protection active I survive the minute or so that they last.

I did this thinking I might get another 9 storage containers, but they seem to be the same containers that I already built on my base. I assume, a bit like your ship, the only way to get more storage on the freighter is to buy a bigger freighter.

I found that to be wonky at first. You may wish to restart the game.

What, start from scratch?!

How far is close? Anyone got any measurements? I not noticed much of a difference and have that module installed too.

If you imagine the distance from one of the landing bays on a trading post to the sales terminal - that's too far away.

Hmm, without checking, that doesn't sound right at all. Pretty sure I could transfer that far... but i will have to check to be sure.

To be clear, I can access the inventories in that exact scenario - but the same distance elsewhere I can’t. I was just giving a measurement of distance.

Might get the U distance exactly later.

I think it's 150u for the teleporter. If you open up your inventory, it should say that the teleporter is enabled (if you're between 50 - 150 units of your ship) in red text.

Anything beyond 150 and it'll say it's disabled.

I found a perfect planet - green grass, blue sky, weather described as "Beautiful", no storms, minimal sentinels, lots of interesting animals. So I'm building my first base and getting started with the Overseer/Scientist/etc.

The Blueprint Analyser is a little annoying though. I think every time I unlock a blueprint, another one gets added to the bottom of the list, right? Except that sometimes it doesn't and it seems bugged. Even so, I must spend the valuable things I dug up to unlock a bunch of wooden shit and the simple metal ramp I need still hasn't appeared on the list

Honestly, I just need a little ramp. The round room's door is just a little too high. I made the BIG mistake of trying to create a rise in the ground with the terrain manipulator. Don't do that -- you'll just spend half an hour making a pig's ear of the ground around your base. I feel like that woman who repainted that Jesus picture. It'll never look right again.

It would be so much better if you coul dget two specialist terminals in each round room. And the poor fellas have to stand up, because chairs require an ingredient I've never even heard of! Star Silk? What the hell. It's just a little red office chair, it doesn't need bloody Star Silk!

1.53 patch has crashed the most on my PS4 Pro by the way. Roughly one random crash per hour.

150u is no distance at all. I was hoping for “indefinite”, or at the very least, “pretty much anywhere you’d walk from your ship”.

Might bin it and use something actually useful.

If you think about how the technology works "in the story", so to speak... You can beam inventory items to your freighter instantly, but it's a one-way trip for the items. So why can't you beam inventory items to your ship from any distance? The item teleporter literally explains and defines the concept... makes it canon... yet it only works over 150 metres, compared to the infinity of space with your freighter? And if we're thinking realistically, why are the base storage containers bigger than my ship yet can't hold as much?

So, clearly there's something about the game I like because I keep on flicking it on and playing for a bit. Finally got my hyperdrive installed, and had my first encounter with the galactic map...

FUCKING HELL IT'S AWFUL.

I'm going to assume I'm just an idiot, but please someone tell me how the hell to select somewhere to go! I just click on the 'nearest system'. It moves the map there, but as far as I can see there's no button to say 'go'.

Why am I having such a problem with it? I don't think I'm that much of a moron.

Have you got a warp cell to fuel the hyperdrive? You have to hold the button down to warp. Also, if you press (I think) Circle it deselects the path to the centre and puts you in free roam, so you can select any system (not all of which you will be able to reach until you upgrade your hyperdrive).

Just saw this cool video on Reddit. Proper Felix Baumgardner stuff!

Okay, annoyingly I have somewhat got into this. But I could use a few tips:

I've just got a freighter and a frigate. First mission was fine but every subsequent one has ended with it getting heavily damaged within a few minutes even though I'm sending it on the lowest ranked missions I can get. And as I've just started I've no idea how to get the cash for more. I've set up a base and a few plants - how does the farming work?

Also, my ship is utter dogger and gets torn to pieces whenever I get jumped. How do I get the plans for better weapons? I vaguely remember the mining laser being an utter beast when I first played but I have no idea where to get one.

Lastly, is there any way to remove way points? I got pointed to an abandoned settlement which I had to flee because whenever I touched anything I got mullered by these ugly alien dog dealies, and now whenever I scan to find somewhere new it either mostly points me at the same abandoned settlement (even though I grabbed the computer data from it). Or at least is there any way to clear the way point? I'd like to consolidate in this system for a bit but my map is getting very cluttered.

I've realised I'm basically playing this like a space hippy, with no real objective, just drifting around and seeing what happens, enjoying the cosmic nature of the universe. My attention span is getting shorter every year but this game somehow bypasses it completely, and I'm able to play for hours at a time.

Yesterday I traded in my fully-specked out exotic ship for a slightly nicer looking exotic ship, so now I have to collect all the nanite chips I need to upgrade everything again, and I'm fine with that.
