With a virtual Kevin McLoud slagging it off behind your back.

.."six months ago this project was in dire straits, the Korvax had walked off the site due to lack of payment and there was no resources for glass in the hydroponics wing, but now it's truly transformed; the whole curved metal  structure fits naturally amongst the pink mountains and toxic rain"

Oh shit, really?

I've noticed my ship had technology slots too for weapons/engine upgrades and the like. Do they get a boost in there?

I guess so - that part is new to me.

The Exosuit has new slots too. I've just installed health boosts in the tech section, but I've no cargo slots though, and don't know how to get them.

So I started the Awakens quest which I think is the new content. Once I'd done that I had an option to follow the Atlas which I said yes to but now my Awakens quest as disappeared from my log. It best come back!

Also, crashed ships are a waste of time now it seems. Every one so seems to have a broken slots so you have to invest huge amounts to get the full trade in value :(

Aren't crashed ships more for poaching for your own use to save you splashing out on buying one?

@PobThey have a star rating, 1 to 3, which you can see once you've engaged/targeted them. The Phase Beam is the easiest weapon to use, but I find that boring, so I use the Plasma Cannons. Not tried the rockets yet.

You will definitely need to upgrade them though, unless you are carrying a massive stack of iron for your shields (btw, quick access for which is on the d-pad in case you hadnt realised).

Pump the fire fire button if you don't want to overheat the guns, but if you've got a good shot lined up it can be worth emptying your clip so to speak. You can avoid fire if you floor it and spin about. Fastest way to die is an enemy ship heading straight towards you with their Phase beam, so if that happens floor the boost and get out of their sights.

Ace, cheers. I hadn't seen the star rating thing so I'll look out for that.

If you realise things are going south can you generally boost away from danger or are there ships that'll outrun you?

You get the option to add Cargo slots to your suit when you visit a Drop Pod (click the node on the bottom right of the Exosuit). But beware, they currently appear to be bugged - the game takes 50k u from you, but no slot gets added.

Are there places you can buy ships from other than just approaching ones docked at stations or crashed? I took a crashed one but it took me a while to repair all the slots, and fair amount of expense.

I've got the rocket launcher blueprint now though and have installed one on my ship. Just need to bump my shield up and I'm going bounty hunting. Hope there are specific bounty hunter missions.

My starter ship came with the missiles. Did yours not?

I really want the multi-tool grenade launcher back but I've not happened across that blueprint anywhere. Need to be able to dig in when a storm hits or I get lost in the caves!

Yeah it did come with one but I ditched the ship before even trying the rocket launcher, and you can't carry your tech over unfortunately.

Well before, you just kept trading until you go a max slot ship without really spending credits.

Might as well just save up now and get the ship I want rather than trying to get lucky finding one, then funding the repairs etc.

I was wondering this. I love my home planet and would be reluctant to leave but my base is in midair. Have I mentioned that before ;)

Mate, you've got your own Cloud City. Count yourself lucky!

Had no idea about the d-pad left/right to cycle targets in space, I wonder how many other things I've missed.

Now we have Elite on the PS4, are there any HOTAS options, or do games need to explicitly support that kind of thing?

Yeah they need to be specifically supported,, NMS isn't unfortunately. There are literally only two games on PS4 that do, Elite and War Thunder.
