I don't know if you remember, but I had a couple of instances of in-atmosphere dog-fighting before the game was even officially released. It was fun enough, but this should make it far more likely and exciting.

I do recall that and it scared the shit out of me, when I first started, thinking enemies would follow you down to planets - but imagine low flight through canyons during combat, could be very good fun indeed.

Wow that's some impressive shit. They've taken an awful lot from Elite, and that's a very, very good thing.

A more arcade like version of Elite Dangerous sounds like bliss to me. I fucking love me some Elite, but at times I just want to fly around and zone out.

I'm not a registered user but all my info was on there!

Let me guess - you searched for your PSN profile, waited for the page to load, and then it was all there.  As if they had fetched it from a server somewhere, and delivered it to your web browser.  Yes?

Then you've entered your PSN username on the site. If you do this and your profile/trophies are public that syncs your profile data with their site. Only 3.2m PSN members have done so, but there are well over 100m registered PSN accounts and 70m monthly active users. The site only tracks a small proportion of PSN members, and the number given for owners of games is correspondingly small. It doesn't relate to the number of sales at all (and is not even proportionally accurate, I'd argue, because the sort of person who looks up their trophies on that site isn't necessarily a good match with the average PlayStation owner).

Not to mention the people who are most likely to visit sites such as that are those who chase trophies from games almost entirely unlike No Man's Sky, which requires many hours of playtime.  I'm unsurprised there are so few members with the game, and further unsurprised that such a low percentage have played the updates.

Oh my word, that video made my hairs stand on end. Looks like I picked the right day to have just completed all of the missions in Watch Dogs 2.

Not sure I could face starting again though, invested just a bit too much time to be going back to square 1.

@noob @parrapatheslapper Thanks

That's twice in the last few weeks this forums caused me to spend money.

Stupid thing is this will be the third copy of the game I've owned (stupid interesting sounding updates)

I know how you mean - I purchased NMS before launch for £50 and sold it a few weeks after for sod all.  Purchasing again for a tenner ain't so bad though.

Hang on...maybe this was Hello Games's plan all along...

This is my issue too. Though I do wonder if the experience is even better when you start over again considering all of the updates...

Yeah, I'm really not sure. I think I have all of the discovery badges except the harsh environment one, and my base is pretty well along (though not on an ideal planet), but it would be nice to see it from the start.

I think I'll just wait until I'm brave enough to try survival mode.

i just ignore crafting tbh...

excited for the update now!

Is this possible? Is there a mode that means I can ignore resource collection?

i restarted after the last patch and still gave up on it as I was spending hours trying to find one element

shame as I love the exploration part of the game

Man, basically sounds like NMS 2.0. That's my weekend sorted. :)

That's exactly what I was thinking. It looks like a sequel to the game I played this time last year rather than one patched with free updates.
