Want multiplayer? Play something else.

I recently discovered the psnprofiles website and how it tracks data on all games - 96,000 people bought the original game, and of those apparently only 6000 people or so have played the pathfinder update on PS4. That's shocking to me.

We should consider ourselves lucky they are still supporting it after that kind of drop off.

psnprofiles only tracks public accounts. Even then it might only track them if someone asks for it to be tracked.

I see... however mine was on there and I never volunteered anything. I imagine the vast majority of players dont bother setting their game information to private - why would you? So I assume the numbers are at least giving a good indication of the reality.

It's great for spotting big red chunks of ship fuel. I was on a planet way before they patched the game that was effectively a canyon race track, so deep that even without low level flying you could have fun with it. Been praying for another one of those post patch, but not rolled one like it since. Maybe they'll be more common in the next update. Need those types for flying fun and some more moonbuggy friendly types too, with better upgrades to get more air from jumps.

Is that last pic a new ship or robot lifeform? Thinking the latter.

They're absolutely nowhere near. They only track the games owned by people who've registered on the site. For example, their best sellers list has CoD Blops (PS3) at #1 with 1.039m owners, and #2 is GTAV (PS3) with 940k. Obviously most studios would go out of business if they were anywhere near the real sales figures. (For NMS it even says '96,063 game owners', not 96k sales, which would be absurdly small.)

So tempted to start playing again in the hope that I enjoy it more, but that crafting. No notes about improving that.

i just ignore crafting tbh...

Those annoying things are really where the gameplay lies.   Get rid of limits and there are no problems to solve.

Couldn't agree more, they bring my gameplay to a halt every time. I mean, even Minecraft has limits but they're kind of artificial as it's so easy to make chests. I couldn't believe how quickly your capacity is maxed out just gathering resources in NMS. It's like some kind of anti-player device purely implemented to stop you getting anywhere.

This looks amazing.

I almost should probably start afresh with this update.

The initial release was the most early access thing ever.

I'm thinking the same. I loaded up my Survival Mode save this week and I couldn't remember what I'd been doing or what I'd been planning to do.

This update seems to have changed quite a lot so I may just start from scratch.
