*records two-hour entitled rant about how this update is worthless given that the dinosaurs in the game are different to the dinosaurs in the trailer, and also that Sean Murray is the most evil man who ever lived*

5.19GB patch downloading. Another game to fit into my schedule.

I doubt i can fit in Nier Automata before E3 at this rate. And Mass Effect might get a play around September. Fantastic times for gamers. All rejoice! (or fucking moan as usual)

Some highlights:

Just reading the rest, this is an insanely big update. That's twice now that I wish they'd launched in this state, this thread would be bumped all the time had they.

I think the Foundation update improved it considerably, and arguably should have been its state at launch. This new update is your first DLC cherry, as it were.

 

I wish we could somehow compile all the posts in this thread which have images, proper Wish You Were Here stuff.

For some reason I couldn't stop thinking about this game recently. The whole thing about seeing a planet getting closer and closer, and actually flying down onto the surface and exploring it. That appeals to me massively. I kind of overlooked it at launch because it seemed to be getting bad press, but now the hype has died down there's obviously still a strong fanbase of people who love the game. I often have a mooch in here and read Davros' excellent posts, and pictures, and well there's just nothing else like this game is there? 

 

Looks like I chose a good time to jump in.

Oh wow, this looks marvelous (Pro at 1080p). Everything is faster; from scrolling text on screen to landing. Milestones pop up less often and when they do they can be skipped. I am certain the framerate per second has seen a massive increase. You can tilt the ship more down so it is easier to scan the ground (when looking for Exo Suit upgrade pods). And I have not even left the first planet (yes, I started over. Again. For the dozenth time I am sure).

 

Excellent stuff so far.
