It's in a spoiler, so I was a bit unsure if it was spoiling something else as well.

Yeah, fair enough. I thought it was a bit more obvious than that. :)

I notice duplicate ships and pilots are still arriving in the station. Just had 3 of the same.

Regarding the problem Bastion was talking about, jumping off the planet in one take off thrust, I counteract it by thrusting off and slamming the break at the same time.

Brake, but I do that and it doesn't work some of the time. In fact, it often causes me to reverse off the planet instead.

Platinum trophy got, but man is it taking forever to get to the centre. 152,000+ or so light years, and that's after getting everything else in the game done. Its also annoying to have to repair stuff after a black hole that needs Omegon or other purple stuff. I might try and avoid using black holes just because of that.

I think I might be done now till there's more content.   No interest in going to the centre.  I've stopped talking to aliens because they only give me blueprints I already have.

I'm still getting new Blueprints, but very rarely. I got something called a Photonix Core last night, not heard of that before.

Anyway, I'm also taking a break. Not because I'm bored, but because I can't moderate my play time. I had nothing to do yesterday, so I played from 8am until about 5pm. Not healthy.

No, but I'll certainly check both of those out. :)

Came out of warp straight into a 20+ fighters plus Capital Ships battle earlier. Got the shit kicked out of me:

So, just completed the Atlas path, and wasn't reading the closing text quick enough before it faded out. Did it say that:

My 10 atlas stones were being converted into a new star in the galaxy that would host some planets that another future player would spawn on? Is that a persistent new system added to the database? Cool if so, I suppose. The main benefit for me though was freeing-up 10 slots in my exosuit inventory!

Meh, its OK from a "it's nice because a I want to do is fantasise about exploring space"  point of view, but he is 100% wrong about the game being designed to keep pushing you forward.  They *said* that's what it's supposed to do, but every planet is so busy with resources, outposts and ruins and stuff, and gives you such easy ways to find those things, that it basically encourages you to stay in one place.

Why the fuck "base building" is something they are planning on doing first is beyond me.

I don't know about 100% wrong. The game does drive me to push forward, because I always want to see the next planet. And the next. But equally I'm happy to linger on a planet that appeals to me.

I think it depends on the sort of player you are. If I wanted to stay on one planet and grind distress calls until I had a 48 slot ship, I guess I could. But that doesn't appeal. The game is pretty flexible in that regard. I'm not sure it encourages one approach over another, it just makes both available.

The one thing it is inflexible about is going back. I do wish I could just save favourite planets and easily return to them. But maybe that's the point, to focus you on the next discovery.

..and even worse, the stories we'll be able to share in the future will be the second type above, just with and additional "spent 20 hours mining so now I can build a house.  Haven't found the blueprint for the door yet".

FFS.

What a missed opportunity!

I agree base building is a dumb idea that goes against what the game is. Instead, they need to have massive capital ship building, giant ships in space that follow you around and engage in big capital ship fights. And of course, they could allow more inventory space.

anyone modding yet on PC here. I have downloaded the fast action mod as it is a pain waiting for that circle to go round when you click it with mouse!

244 mods out there already patching in all sorts of stuff... mostly basic right now but some interesting tweaks to the procedural generation too.

Not sure how much to mod or not as updates may break my save etc
