So today, I gave up after two whole days trying to find the elusive last animal on the planet I was on. Moved on to the next system. Set down on the far side of a moon from a huge planet to find rabid sentinels, 100 degree storms, gravitino balls littering the landscape and bouncing pineapples. Within a couple of hours I'd scanned everything, uploaded for the 175k and got the achievement for scanning all animals, picked up and sold loads of gravitino balls and increased my exo suit and got a better mining gun. A very satisfying session. Then I went to the planet and it's the most boring thing I've been to so far, except for its huge Emeril spires and docile sentinels. I need plenty of carbon to keep my mining gun charged for this one.

in a similar fashion I moved onto the next planet in my same system, it too was Emril rich and I got the all species achievement! it's like they wrote it this way ;)

Nice work!

Use plutonium on the mining laser though.  Way more efficient! ;)

I know, but I like to use carbon. There's way more of it and I hop around quite a lot in my ship so use the Plutonium for the launcher.

Here's the shittest bug I've seen..

If you are too quick to repair your damage after a black hole (ie before the message is spoken by your suit voice) then the item is immediately broken again once the message is given.  Ffs.

Yeah, as mentioned several times I think most of us - or at least many of us - have seen them. I've seen a few systems within jump distance (though none lately), but never chosen to go to them. So no idea about the planets or animals because I've never visited, but if the person's named the system you'd think they'd usually name at least one planet in it too.

Yes, plenty of planets already discovered and named here.

Talking of planets, I've decided to give myself a three planet limit tonight, otherwise I am actually going to die through lack of sleep.

Found my first planet with Vortex Cubes last night and the Sentinals are set to, what I can only describe as, lazy assed bastards.

They can be right next to me and I grab a cube and they ignore me. Weird and awesome.

Methinks I'll be getting myself north of 15 million tonight - I'm still saving up for a massive ship.

One thing I did find weird is that I landed on an Atlas Space Station Anomaly thing and got an Atlas Sphere. Went down to a planet. Did some fighting. Landed back in Anomolhy as I realised I hadn't seem Polo and whoever and again there was no way to find them and yet I got a second Atlas Sphere from same place. Strange.

Been grinding planets for better ships the past few days, seen as my ship was utter crap for what seemed like forever. Up to 39 slots now. Thought I'd check some alien ships at the local space station afterwards, and one was selling his 42 slots ship for........89 million! I have 14 million, it would take me weeks if not months to get that kind of money, all for an extra 3 slots! What a cheek.

"No thanks mate, I'll just check the local planets for "crashed" ones, ok? nudge nudge wink wink" - wish you could shoot down ships then land and nick em. I'd do that to that greedy cock.

If they're the inactive cubes (i.e. black cubes on the ground rather than red skinny things) then the sentinals never care about you picking them up. They're the easiest cash farm

It's a shame you can't sell ships, really!  You could make quite the business!

Oh, interesting, saw this post on reddit.  Someone has been datamining and found that the Diplodocus models from the orginal trailer are in the code!  But they are props (like trees) rather than procedural creature parts.. :(

Haha. I've been daydreaming about playing this from the beginning with some self-imposed rules to make it a bit more.. Survival-ey?  Ahem.  Anyway, the main gist of it would be:

- No L3 scanner allowed

- No using bypass chips to find buildings

- Can only recharge life support / other equipment while in-ship

- No farming of stupid free money items permitted.

I also fancy making my own mod, to reduce the icon sizes, they're a bit gigantic for what they need to be!

I'm doing something similar on my PC playthrough. I'm currently:

Ignoring all wall mounted blueprint dispensers

Ignoring the loot crates that litter the place

No farming

I also thought about only trading directly with aliens and not using the galactic trade machines but I let that one slip. Death should also mean restart, but again I was messing about trying to destroy a freighter (you can't) and got myself killed several times.

Oh, and something else that proves I've gone a little bit insane with this game... When I repair the ship I stand beside it and look at some part or module, as if that's where the repair is being done. :(

Limit yourself to only carrying 250 of any one material in your exosuit & 500 in your starship.

After a few days off, I was back playing this yesterday. I've jumped to my 2nd system spent a bit of time in the space station, found a nice small yellow ship I liked but it was 10 million, I think I read someone on here said that if you dismantle the upgrades on your current ship the new ship becomes cheaper. Yeah, well that does not work, I went out of the space station & got attacked by pirates. I quickly upgraded what shields I could with the dismantled materials & legged it to the nearest planet. Got to a trading post and spent some credits upgrading my weapons on the starship.

There were three planets on gospvg - acorn electron but they were all pretty dull so I built another warp drive & went to the next star system. I got a notification about some anomaly in the galaxy which I have ignored for now.

Is there a way to find out ho many planets/moons there are in a star system? Actually I think that may be in the galaxy screen?

Anyhow got to gospvg-atari ste, planet quartet & lemmings were boring the usual emeril & aluminium deposits. I then landed on planet dungeon master & it said the sentinels were hostile? What are they hiding I thought, I could not find anything so flew to the nearest trading post & saw these glowing white balls that had a green exclamation mark on them? Picked one up and my wanted level shot up to three & sentinels appeared out of nowhere including a dog-like creature. I just ran into the trading post praying they would not follow me inside. I forget what they are called but they are worth 27K each !!

Created a save point & called it a night. Will return to planet dungeon master soon to collect some more of these orbs. I need 10 million to buy that small yellow ship I want & get rid of my current tank.
