For a second there you had me thinking Paddy Kenny.  Icon Paddy Kenny is something I can get behind!

 

Just the 86 non-totw SBC remaining for Varane now.  Considering just accepting having to pay something in the region of a mill for Jorginho.  I dunno.  Passing is very important to how I play, so I think he'd be a keeper.  I just struggle with paying that much over his lowest price!

I ended up with some good fodder, Sterling untradeable twice so will have to quick sell recover one after putting the other one into something, couple of 87s and three low informs. 
 

I’ve also noticed that weekly rivals base reward is now 4 wins, 8 wins for the reward upgrade.

I've just come on to say about the rivals matches increasing, looks like the rewards are a lot better now though.

 

I've sorted Varane, and just played a few games. He's a rock, but for 1 million+ in fodder, he better fucking had be. I'm about 150k short of swapping TOTY Donnarumma and Kimpembe for TOTY Rudiger and TOTY Mendy, which I'm very much looking forward to.

Totally forgot to mention that I packed TOTY Mendy as an untradeable this morning. I’d need to do another overhaul to use him but having Donnarumma makes it low priority. Unless I get to work on Varane as well…

This is my current team, spent most of my spare coins on Cantona and Rooney. Alongside Benzema the three of them are tearing it up in Div 2 this morning. Money well spent!

I'm averaging about 150-200k a week from Rivals and WL rewards. Only have 40k left but thinking of saving up buy Prime Van Persie and moving Benzema into midfield and dropping Aouar to impact sub. I'm a United fan so the plan is to eventually get moments Scholes when he comes out.

I've used him before as a left sided midfielder in a 4-1-4-1 formation and he was quite useful drilling balls into the lone striker. Maybe that's been nerfed since the update but he can push forward with the ball into attacking positions great and handles pressure from CDM's well so yeah I've found him pretty handy in midfield.

 

Cantona however is a revelation at CAM. Throughballs are actually useful now.

I got bashed around hard when I first made it to Elite, first game lost 8-1 lol..

I do believe I'm getting better for the experience though,  qualifiers and WL are pretty mild in comparison.

Spend a bit of time up there and you'll improve considerably just playing a few games a week.

I might do it just in case I ever need the strong link to Varane, but a quick look at the card suggests Alisson or Mendy would still be better choices.

 

Has anyone else managed to get a game today? It feels like they've shadow patched it, passing seems worse and the teams I've played against with constant pressure have managed to destroy me without getting tired, whereas before I'd be able to pass around them and then run straight past them when they tire.

Only played a couple of weekend league games, and I don't think either opponent was on a high press.  Haven't really noticed anything different otherwise.  I tried De Gea, but I'm not sure.  The problem with keepers is I'm not sure how much they really figure in the decision whether a shot is a goal. I think that's why every keeper has equal number of comments saying he shit and saying he's great on Futbin.  I'll go with Mendy for now I think.

I’ve played 7 games of WL. Currently 6-1. Half the goals I have conceded have been bullshit oriented including numerous bounces back to attackers. My keeper also passed the ball to the opponent forward for a tap-in. He also let a pass back roll past him into the net. Maybe time for a new keeper…

I tend to roll the ball out rather than kick or throw from in hands.  Nothing related to any updates that might have happened today, but I've had a few cases where the keeper rolls the ball, backs away (and is uncontrollable), and just leaves an attacker to run onto it and slot into an empty net.  All part of the FIFA fun.  Mendy did pull off an incredible save earlier though, clawing back and absolute bullet of a shot from off the line behind him.

Something has definitely changed, every game I'm playing I find my players are swarmed as soon as they touch the ball. Even if I switch to the other wing, I find I can get one or two touches on the ball before the same thing happens. Either EA have fucked about with the sliders to make constant pressure a lot more aggressive or some pro has managed to make a bullshit tactic that everyone is copying. Either way, it's made it horrible to play.
