Got mid Hagi from the 8 swaps icon pack. I guess that’s about average. Meh.

 

Decided to make the slightly ludicrous decision to upgrade my IF Messi to his OTW. Figured he’ll probably be in my team all season, so why not.

 

Of course, I’m pretty much guaranteed to pack his TOTY, so it’ll just be a temporary acquisition!

Did Icardi, he’s showed glimpses of quality in the 7 games I played earlier but I’ve been experimenting with a single CDM so maybe not the best time to judge.
 

I’m currently plotting my next move with 1.3m in coins saved. I’ve got enough for 92 Neymar or Ginola but thinking about just trying out gold Neymar at first as either the first two would be a bit of a big coin sink into one player.

I've never bothered with the League Player milestones before, but now is as good a time as any if you want to give them a go.  With an entirely prem, largely first-owned team you can make progress against Sarr, Manquillo and the TOTY Warmup objective.  It's still a grind, but slightly less so when it's potentially 3 birds with 1 stone.  They allow you to have 74-rated players in the team, so make sure you load your bench with them so you can have a decent starting team.

Picked up Messi to try for around 300k, means I can keep my favoured backline and CDMs while trying out Icardi (who seems to come to life with his little countryman to play off up top). Keeping my eyes on Ginola who is dropping rapidly (heroes pick SBC is meant to be on the way) and who I’ve been dying to try since release. 
 

This means for the first time ever in FUT, I’ve had Messi and Ronaldo in my team at some stage before EA start throwing the high rated cards at me late in the cycle. They’ve never been as easily accessible as now in the 6 and a half years I’ve been playing FUT.

EA forgot to put Prime players in these packs, so they're compensating everyone who did it with another player pick pack, fixed this time. I've already moved on from Socrates, turns out a front 4 of Messi, Icardi, Neymar and Salah is really fucking good, even if Salah is on 8 chem and Messi on 7.

 

Can't wait for my baby Deco!

Anyone on console noticed any significant differences since the patch?

 

most noticeable for me is that the game is applying my “players in the box for corners” perfectly now, to the point I will need to adjust it to increase it slightly. Pre-patch setting it to 2 still had 5 players in the box. Now it is literally 2. 
 

Also thank fuck they no longer force me to look at stupid purple and pink pitch line, or, even worse, those psychopaths who use green. 
 

both big wins there. Otherwise gameplay … doesn’t feel too different?

Nice of EA to conveniently overlook any headliners for TOTW for the second week running.  

 

Managed to scrape enough together for Ginola.  That's enough messing with the team for this week.  I had to sell such a huge amount of my tradeable stock, so won't be doing any SBC's for quite some time!  I always choose option 2 with rivals rewards for the most coin, but might have to go tradeable this time so I have something to sell!

Connection fairly good today and went 6 wins out of 8 to bag a couple promotions, reward upgrade and playoff qualification. What a difference when this game actually plays how it should. 
 

I’m getting tired of Rulebreaker Parejo and TOGS Capone though so some changes are under review. UCL Live Fekir is still sensational.

Nice!  I guess it's a bit of a false economy to wait for TOTY to open packs.  The chances of packing one will be so incredibly low, and I expect the rare gold prices will crash due to the volume of packs being opened.  With the current SBC's, rare golds are actually at a (relatively) decent price.  If you concede that you aren't going to pack a TOTY, it might make more sense to cash in now.

This makes sense - I might just open all my packs now, I was hoping that Trent would get a TOTY card but having seen the leaks, I'm not too enthusiastic for it at all. BRB.

Unless I do a drastic and likely unaffordable overhaul I can’t see anyway to get Neymar into my team. I need full chem mainly so I don’t have ‘lack of chem’ as an excuse when things go bad as I will just fester on it.   Any ideas?

This is my list of notable pulls having cracked all my packs just now. I went ahead and did the 85x3 packs afterwards, getting Di Maria, TOTW Muller, TOTW Handanovic and Keylor Navas from them. Not great then, but I've got some high rated fodder if an icon I want comes into an SBC.

Neymar is incredible in my team playing as the left CAM, not many goal contributions but he adds so much in terms of progression up the pitch (same with Salah as my right CAM, so it's likely just how I play them meaning they don't score too many) - I'd be moving heaven and earth to get him in. The stats aren't always the be all and end all, some players seem to just have a little extra magic and Neymar is one of them. Try a few games with him at full chemistry at least, it's the only way to make an informed decision.

Cheers @Keiths_Dad my main problem getting him in his having to bring in a RF / RW / RF rather than start with strikers out of position (Morales and Alessandri) and then move into into LF / RF positions when I switch tactics. So both Morales (Tradeable) and Alessandri (Untradeable) are going to have to move it, because we know Larsson isnt going anywhere :D will have a play around and see where I end up.
