About 2/3 opponents I play use either high depth or drop back, and flood their area with players. And the auto blocks are really, really killing this game off for me.

This is most of my games, and while the losses to chipped through ball spam when I can't get hold of the defender I want are annoying, it makes even the wins not a fun experience.

 

I do build up quickly when possible and it's not my pace of play allowing the opponent to get into position.

Any vids that show me how to not have most shots blocked would be very much appreciated.

The game just decides what it wants to do, regardless.  I tend to have similar XG stats, although at least you've won there.  I get stats like that when I lose!  I also wish I could figure out how to stop my defenders messing up every counter-attack through ball that they would surely be favourites for.  There are just certain things that occur repeatedly in the game.  I find the key is to just shrug it off as 'just a game' and move on to the next match.

 

By the way, silver beasts is up, so at least you can get a few more packs now for your Icon Swaps grind!

Its unreal how badly your players start to perform going 2-0 down. 

 

Messi and Neymar can't make a simple pass all of a sudden. 

 

Players are offside more. 

 

Bonkers how fixed the game is.

The absolute biggest thing is composure in the box, and I don't mean a player's stat, I mean yours. I think it's the hardest thing in FIFA, but resisting the urge to just shoot ASAP is crucial to not having shots blocked constantly. If you watch someone better than all of us like Boras you'll see that he'll play one more pass than most, or he'll reposition before he shoots with a skill move or short dribble. That kind of stuff you can work on.

No doubt about that.  I lost a game where I had 36 shots!  The problem is, it feels like there's a lot of time investment needed to get better at things like skills to make room in the box.  If it felt like I was close, I'd be more tempted to work on it, but it feels like I'm absolutely miles away from the level where you know exactly what to do in the box.  Even the stuff where you just essentially wiggle the left stick is beyond me.

 

Just opened a rare players pack where every single player was a dupe of an untradeable.  Sometimes I just long for packs with non-rares!

That's a lot of short-term SBC's needing 82 or 83 squads with reasonable chem to do.  I guess we'll be seeing a spike in their value.  Shame the new Sarr has lower stats than predicted.  He's got to be good to get for the links, but those league objectives sound the opposite of fun - I've not been motivated enough to do any of them before.

First team screenshot in a good while. 

After my back to back packing of Messi and Neymar, I've had to change to a meta type team based on PSG and Brazil. 

 

My issue is I need a Box to Box type mid to run alongside Kante..... Kaka or Coutino will have to be benched. 

 

Any ideas?

I'm using Guendouzi, I've only got him because he's untradeable but he's very good and will fit in your team.

10W 10L in Weekend League, despite the lag. And I absolutely was robbed of 3 or 4 wins.

 

Now I've proven to myself I'm easily capable of Rank 5 (and I'm pretty sure I could get rank 4 if I really pushed), all that's left for me to do is get into division 1 and I think I'm done with Fifa this year. It's already the most I've ever achieved in any of the series.

 

The 120 'good quality' packs I've saved for TotY... probably shouldn't have bothered in hindsight.

What I would say is don't do anything drastic like delete your club. I've stepped away for a couple of weeks twice this year when I'm burnt out, and now I'm enjoying it again.

Did a mid icon SBC and got Ferdinand. No exactly what I was looking for but I’ll give him a try as it opens me up to other options at full back rather than just the Serie A options I’ve been using up to now. 
 

Sitting on 6 icon swap tokens, just need to win 4 more with a silver championship team to have enough to roll the dice on the base/mid icon pack.

What is your experience of ‘lag’ and why are you so seemingly accepting of it? I’ve had this freeze / fast forward lag in every game for weeks now and it’s making me want to petrol bomb the nearest EA related building. It just sucks all the enjoyment out of what was a superb online experience up until the start of December for me.

 

I’ve not changed anything with my setup so have EA repurposed servers or something to save money?

I'm sorry but iv never had this and iv played about 400 games.

if it’s the majority of your matches it’s gotta be on your end somewhere I think.
