I see a lot of people use his as a CDM with Shadow, but it can make him "clunky" apparently.

 

Engine I reckon, makes him a 92 CM/CAM

I'd rather play Mane tbh as it seems a waste having him as a Sub, but fitting him in means dropping Sandro and using either Carlos or buying a Robertson of some form.

Theres a guaranteed TOTW/Moments TOTW SBC in the code to drop tonight.

 

Gone balls deep on 84 Guaita and 84 Schowolow. Lets see if I can guess one of these things right for once.

Yeah, i bought him on Friday for 4.7mil, i think he might hit 6mil before champs.

Here's my current team as I haven't shared for a while. Thought I'd do some player reviews as well because I'm bored. Everyone on 10 chem except Malcuit on 8.

Handanovic. Games: 651. Meh.

 

Felipe Luiz. Games: 273. I love him. Seriously, he's basically the perfect CB.

 

Romagnoli. Games: 18. Meh. Stopgap until I get Maldini from swaps in a few weeks.

 

Malcuit. Games: 510. Very good and fun right back, never lets me down.

 

Alex Sandro. Games: 77. Stiff and dull but solid enough. Upgrade needed.

 

Tonali. Games: 445. Absolute fucking animal and bully. Roy Keane's true successor.

 

Essien. Games: 374. Words can barely convey my disappointment after the grind to get this guy. Utterly underwhelming. I'm now this close to swapping him back for Prime Keane (who's fucking brilliant as a pure CDM) and giving Tonali Essien's box to box role.

 

Mertens. Games: 12, goals 2. My side CAMs are never high scoring and I've had this card before. He's brilliant.

 

Messi. Games: 20, goals 1. Erm, not a typo. He's been incredible in build up play (and great fun to use) but not scoring at all. Again, probably down to my style of play but maybe I need someone pacier or a Hunter chem.

 

Griezmann. Games: 53, goals 60. My God. Add half as many assists on top, all from CAM. This card is insane. Can't recall having a CAM this effective in FIFA.

 

Rodrigo. Games: 26, goals 41. Not quite as fluid on the ball as I'd hoped but his positioning, shooting and physicality are fantastic. Brilliant card.

I read somewhere a conspiracy theory of FIFA is that EA weaken players over time. When I got Essien he seemed a total monster sat in defensive midfield for me. Now I'm indifferent. I'd say it's more likely that other players are improving with better cards rather than players getting weaker, but it's an interesting thought.

 

I'm even thinking Petit in the Icon picks to replace him now!

Tonali hasn't regressed at all for me and I put Keane back in today and he is the same monster he always was. He needs upgrading because - like you say - teams in general have improved, but he's still a much better defender than Essien is.

 

Essien is just (relatively) shit. Inception called it months ago and I wish I'd listened.

Just did the TOTW upgrade again. No fucking kidding, third 75 rated in a row. And they are untradable too so basically useless. 
 

I did pack Da Costa Birthday from a pack during the evening but I’m not doing another TOTW. Fucking con!!!
