Has to be Akanji! Still using his gold card in my Bundesliga team.

I cant figure out a way to get him into my standard 11, alongside scream Pigue (Undroppable!), but I'll be rolling with Akanji... (If I get the required points, which seems unlikely at the moment.)

Shape shifter Denis Zakaria SBC!!!

I spent my newfound riches on Prime Dalglish and he's just absurd, 11-1 this weekend so far. Playing him ahead of Mkhitaryan's Shapeshifter who is brilliant. I think 5* weakfoot is particularly good with the current narrow tactics people play as you don't need much space to get a shot off.

Productive afternoon.

completed the Bartra objectives, which then took me over Level 30. Haven’t claimed yet as just can’t decide between Kovacic or Amanji

also completed the Ramos SBC.

Ramos looks amazing (as a CB).

Not sure I'm going to hit level 30, but if I do I'll take Kovacic as I have Zakaria and Konaté as my Bundesliga CB partnership. Really liking Zakaria, and the Konaté upgrade to 86 was very solid.

Very nice, I came up against some really good players (including a couple of pros) and ended Gold 1 this week. Good luck

cheers, it’s my best ever start to a fut champs weekend. Quite baffling to be honest, the connection is horrendous, gameplay has been horrendous I’ve just defended really well in a 4231.

its getting really difficult now, my last game the guy equalised and quit or I’d have probably lost. My players were so unresponsive.

Almost a perfect record to gold 2, but I had a disconnection in a game I’m pretty sure I’d have won so 17-1 for the weekend.

Have you faced much overload ball side? How do you deal with it? Have you been using it yourself?

Yeah pretty much everybody from 7 wins on have been using overload ball side and I've been using it myself.

I'm using a 4231, 5 depth 3 width, 2 cdm's on man mark balanced, 3 cams on get in the box, striker on stay forward get in behind, 5 width on attacking and possession.

In terms of dealing with OBS, when attacking I just try to keep the ball centrally as much as possible until i get just over the halfway line and then switch it wide to Neymar or Garrincha then it's down to whether they can handle a 1v1 vs either of them, Garrincha is like having a second neymar on the pitch, although his goal return has been poor, he creates a lot.

Defending it, I let them get the ball wide and just try to keep my centre backs in position as much as possible, they only have one real option and that's to square it across the box, so I switch early to a fullback when I see them getting ready to switch and make sure their winger is 1v1 against marcelo or semedo and when they push the ball back inside my CDM's are ready to snatch it,  I've conceded 6 goals in 17 and a bit games.

The thing is you can’t compete without using it, they just have too many players around the ball with no pressure on them if you try to just not use it.

It is what it is, the game is boring, it has been since they nerfed second man press in Fifa 18, it allowed people to pass round their defence and midfield endlessly.

If you’re hopelessly addicted to virtual football you have to use the tools at your disposal or just get shit on.

But you've not been using it all year, have you, and I got Gold 1 without using it, so clearly you don't "have" to use it, do you?

Anyway, it's not your fault this bullshit is in the game, and I certainly don't blame you for using it. I might give it a go next weekend to see how it feels but I enjoy defending without it and I can't see how it can be in any way satisfying. Every year the game seems to regress from release to being less and less skill based.

No, and this is the first weekend I've switched to 4231 as well, I'd much prefer to play 41212 and play quick football end to end, but that's not what gets served up by the opposition, I can get Gold 1 playing that way, i got elite 3 playing that way but it was a slog, it just seems 4231 with overload makes a lot of the people you play against who rely on it to go to pieces.
