The only icon strikers I'd be interested in in that price range are Sanchez (purely as a composure experiment really) and Raul 88, who looks like a faster, stronger Griezmann with a better weak foot.

 

Could you get a winger instead? 87 Henry?

 

If you can handle the wait - and the grind - I'd wait for Icon Swaps 2 as I can see there being an 87 Henry or a baby Del Piero, either of which I'd love.

Maybe I'm doing them wrong! All my headers are glances for some reason, zero aim and zero power.

Sanchez is one I'm looking at, along with Hernandez and Owen - all of them look to have a good balance of pace, dribbling and shooting. I could probably try them all out this weekend, but I'd be looking at about 100k in EA tax for buying and selling them all.

 

As for wingers, I'm pretty happy with Hazard and Salah, so it doesn't make sense to me to upgrade there just yet.

I always always do the L1/R1 timed finish headers from corners, these seem to not only have more power but also accuracy. When I get the timing right that is...

God, I don't even bother with corners anymore. They're just awful. I just try to do that direct scoring trick, I seem to have had more luck with that than anything else. Or lay it off to the edge of the box.

Just to follow up on this, I haven't bought any yet as they're all a bit too high still. I'm waiting on a big pack supply - a huge SBC paying lots of packs, or maybe thursday morning rewards.

FYI, just pick your highest 'curve' player, aim here (not quite halfway between the lines, just a tad more towards the goal) and use full power.  If it doesn't work, carnage generally ensues, or you get another corner.

Spent 100k last night making my team blue. I couldn’t buy the yellow version so spent a lot more than I needed to  looks nice though. 

 

I only want Ageuro and Sterling now. That’s like 230k, might have to get gold card trading again. 

 

I upgraded because I got pumped by shit players, like proper dog shit players in div 6 that had 3 fast lads and through balled all game. Maguire turned like a truck it’s was a bit annoying.

The CB's just step aside and let the striker through on goal and then your keeper does some stupid flop fall/save thing and misses a save that even I could of made.

 

Because thats what that game decided to do. Next game it will decide to let you win.

That Paulinho looks amazing. I wouldn't normally spend big on an SBC but he's just what my team needs even on 8 chem.

Did you see my rant/waffle the other day when Pants was helping me fit Sane into my team?  8 Chem is literally the odd single point off 1 or 2 categories in a few sections.  It literally doesn't matter!  Even overall sections don't reduce, it's that small a reduction in some stats (so 'Pace' was the same 8 vs 10 chem, 'Shooting' was the same 8 vs. 10 chem, etc.).  

 

I feeel so much much better about my 8 chem Mertens after looking into it.

Yep, that Paulinho is sexy. He'll fit in my team on 7 or 8 chem jammed in between Nesta, Keane, Firmino and Salah. I'd have to flog Griezmann, but I can throw in an icon striker with the coins selling him and De Jong would bring in...

 

I got burned spunking a load of coins on untradeable CSL players last year, though. I'll hold back for now.

I think it was FIFA 18 where I spent 6 months with Futmas Fabinho on 8 chem. Like you say, the difference is basically nothing.

 

Part of why icons are so valuable is because you can do shit like this to fit players like Paulinho in at 8 chem which is basically 95% capacity:

Fucking hell, he looks great. So does Mata, tbf. Dare I say, he looks better than Mertens in a CAM role.....but then that causes Allan issues for me.

He's definitely more of a box to box player than a CAM, low agility will make him feel a bit stiff to turn. Think Sissoko if he could pass better and shoot.

Completed the Politano objectives earlier. Playing him as striker alongside Mertens and he's fantastic. Switching this formation to 5-2-1-2 in-game as I can't seem to find one that gets everyone on full chem.

 

Barella is surprisingly fun to play with but I want to replace De Vrij and Strakosha (don't do the TOTW upgrade SBC...). May as well get Handanović as Donnarumma has gone up to within 8k of his cost.

Just pass the ball to one of your full backs, get some space, then do a fake shot whilst keeping the left stick neutral, then do it again quickly. Then just let go of everything. If you're lucky the opposition will be confused and just leave you alone. Can be a fiddly to get it to work. You want to do it near the touchline, close to the half way line.

No weekend league rewards for me this week, took untradeable Rivals rewards which gave me 2 prime gold players packs and 2 rare electrum player packs.

 

3 of the packs were garbage, Sigurdsson being the highest rated. One of the electrum packs showed me Champions League Giroud as the high rated player - then had Bale and Witsel hiding behind him. That's my best rewards haul for about 6 weeks.

I took the cash im back up to 80k, I would love to get Aguero. His graph is dropping he was about 135 last night and 165 last week. Maybe ill have 100k this weekend and he would drop even more.
