I've gone with Serie A again as my starting league....never did get CR7 on '19, don't hold much hope again this season either! 

 

Lukaku is a bit of a beast and Rabiot is a delight. Was lucky with my first pack and got Sandro, so sold him and pulled....Sandro. 

 

When can I trade on the app? Keeps telling me I've not played enough?! Never seen that before.

I've been incredibly frustrated tonight. I seemed to hit a brick wall and lost a bunch of games on the bounce. My players just seemed to be swamped by opposition players constantly, and gaps were appearing in my defence constantly, allowing fast players free runs into the box on every attack. I tried all sorts in the custom tactics, but fuck all was changing. In the end, I ripped my team apart, switching to a 41212 with Matuidi at the base with a shadow card slapped on him, but I was still getting torn to shreds.

 

So I had a little Google, and it turns out the only effective way to defend is to turbo jockey (hold both triggers) right into your opponents and ignore the tackle button. It makes no sense - your players move at about the same speed as sprinting, but are able to stop and turn pretty much on the spot, making it near impossible to dribble past you. It also looks fucking ridiculous.

 

Hoping for a patch soon, firstly to fix the above, and then to scale back the pace a bit.

Anyone been able to get those 2 headers for the Oktoberfest objective?

 

Some guy let me try for 75 minutes of the game but the AI defence was just so fucking on it, also crossing just wasnt working either, again the defenders had all my players marked!

Try BorrasLegend defending tutorial for a start.

 

In custom tactics set your defence to either balanced or press after loose touch, set them to be deep and pretty narrow (I use 4 bars for each, I think) and make sure you use two CDMs.

 

Personally I've gone with 4231 (2) and set striker and both wide men to get in behind as pace is very effective this year.

 

Doesn't need patching, just practice! You need to track runs carefully and fast defenders are a must.

 

Best FIFA in years.

I'm currently battling the controls more than I'm battling my opponents. With contain being next to useless now and tackles being very prone to immediate yellow cards ive had to change a lot of my buttons and it currently feels like torture. Surely the game is gonna see dramatic changes in the form of updates from community advice cos currently this ain't much fun.

I've still never packed an icon in any FIFA or Messi/Ronaldo. Clearly rewarding someone who's historically pumped money in to get them spending again!

 

I've worked through most of those SBCs and my best pull has been Naingollan.

My mates been playing fut since day one and never packed anyone of value at all, he always has a stacked team through trading but he would never spend a penny on packs because he’s see’s them as pointless.

 

Surely that can’t be good for business? I’ve now packed Messi 3 times between 19 and 20 yet some people will never pack him. It’s a crazy system.

 

Nero packed tots Ronaldo 3 times on 18

And it's the first fucking day of release.

 

The best bit was when he said "oof' at Mitch's 70k untradeable Lozano after packing 1.3m of tradeable cards

It's all a bit easy to score isn't it (And concede). Very unsatisfying at the minute. Feels like I've done nothing but score filthy tap Ins. :lol:

 

Had a game last night, half time it was 5-2 with 7 shots to 3. Needs patch. Keepers are fucking pish.

On the other end of the pack luck scale... Having done 22 SBCs, and gained another 15-20 packs through challenges and season progress type things, I finally packed my first boards, Riyadh Mahrez!

 

Been looking for someone to build my first team around, and he'll do for the next week while I wait to see how mu ch goes up by before the weekend league.
