Paging @Timmo and @Pants McSkill

 

So more often than not I get burnt by buying a card when it first drops and then seeing 50/60k drop off it from what I paid, more in TOTW Mertens who’s dropped almost 100k from what I paid.

 

But live Cuadrado I got for 200k and he’s now 260/270k and possibly rising more.

 

Obviously being a dynamic card he was always potentially going to rise, but given that it was pretty certain he’s going to get boosts as Juve are amazing I don’t understand what’s driven his price up vs other cards which suddenly plummet?

 

any insight?

Goddam it, three times now thanks to menu lag I've hit 'list on transfer market' when I wanted to hit 'compare price'. So my card goes up on open bid.

 

It's never some 1k gold either. IF Talisca, IF Susa and now IF Pickford. I lost a total of 8k on the first two and I'll probably lose out on Pickford too. Bought him for 28k and the lowest BIN is 31k... I'm gonna have to get lucky here.

The transfer market is actually disgusting on this game, I don’t think I’ve ever managed to bid on a player first time, it shows a low price and I select bid and all of a sudden it decides either someone has taken it from 21k to 200k on its first bid or a million people have bid on it

By carrying out a detailed analysis on other players who came from the same In-form week and RTF cards I can tell you... Cuadrado is a bit of a weird one. Probably something along the lines of what Pants said, there are no real other options if you are rocking a top level Seria A team.

 

All in-forms seem to follow the same pattern as Mertens, so maybe dont buy them straight away.

How can someone have bought a player I stick on the market by the time it takes for me to hit the list button and come out to be transfer menu?! That has to be some kind of system picking up cards that are listed within certain parameters yeah? It was literally less than 2 seconds between listing him (Ruffier) and him showing as sold for BIN. I smell shiiiiiiiite!

I think this is norm, just people sniping.

 

I try and fail to pick players up milliseconds after they are listed. :lol:

Again I dont think this is anything untoward. If a player is going for 220k Minimum Buy it now. I'd drop 200k on it rather than faff about bidding it up, rather than leaving it on the market for longer, to tempt more people to join in the bidding.

 

 

I sound like the Fifa Defense Force but I just think they are both fairly norm. :ph34r:

Sniping is a definite thing. I do it on occasion, especially when I buy In Forms. There are also auto buyers out there, if you try sniping on a popular item needed for an SBC you'll feel them.

 

Open bidding on PS4 though is fucking nails. Way too much competition out there.

I'm gutted he's the Chelsea player they picked for the card, I'm running CL Alex Sandro at LB and it's nowhere near an upgrade on him.

Hold strong mate, I am selling everything I can this Thursday evening again (players and consumables) and then hold all until BF comes.

 

There should be loads of cool shit, half price packs and SBC's to do.

Im not sure if I have mentioned it before ^_^ but I have been chasing Larsson since icons first became a thing. I have 510k coins and his cheapest 86 and 87 baby cards are about 660k. I am soooo tempted to go for the likes of Mbappe, Pogba or a load of IFs and CL lives when the prices (hopefully) drop but as soon as I am able I will be picking Larsson up.

 

Based on last years prices I would have been able to pick Larsson up and have 100k change given my current flush status but the Icon SBC has fucked the prices up.

 

So don’t defend EA in any way shape or form Steely. The entire system has one goal... take all your coins and leave you potless!

Them using the SBCs to manage the market is the right thing to do to be honest. :ph34r: Rather that than having to face 15 Ruud Gullits every week.
