When the ball is in the air, but you need a player with strength.  CB's generally do it well, but why you might not be seeing it, is because through balls more often go down the wings and you'll be trying to barge with an LB/RB that might not be strong. 

 

As for you trying it with an attacker, it will only work with a beast, like a Lukaku/Higuain, etc.  But if you try it against most CB's like Ramos/Godin, you're just fucked and it's not even worth trying!

Hit Silver 1 with a record of 11-5.

 

The two wins I just picked up were.... strange. First off, I get a rage quit after going 3-0 up in 35 minutes.

Then I was coasting to a 3-1 win when I concede these two goals in the last two minutes to take it to extra time.

 

 

 

 

Thankfully I managed to win it 6-3 in extra time, mainly due to keeping my cool and not raging out.

Anyway, Silver 1, WOOO!

Made Silver 1 with 1 game in hand, thanks for the advice guys. Played with the settings a bit, made some formation changes so attacking would change to 4321 and defending would be 541 etc and it all seemed ok.

 

Also, 10 x 7.k packs later...

Gold 3 achieved with a record of 14-8. I'll take that all day long.

 

I'm now in a similar boat to some of you guys. The game's issues are starting to shine through for me more than the fun parts. I can't see me jumping to Gold 1 without significant improvement in my game, but I don't know how much motivation there is for me to do so.

I've hit Gold in WL which was my long-term gameplay goal, and I've clocked in 2.2m transfer profit, double my initial 'Fuck you EA I'm not spending money on points in your pay-to-win shitfest' goal.

 

So... I'm kinda wondering how much more of this I'll play in the coming weeks. Obviously I'm well aware that I'm saying that having gotten up at 5am to finish my 22nd match in two days, so my viewpoint might be slightly skewed.

Well done mate, you've come on a crazy amount in just a few weeks.

 

In other news, I think this is by far the worst FIFA since PS4/Xbone gen FIFA 14 (the one which was rushed out for the new consoles) and even that pile of crap was still more fun than this. The skill gap is absolutely minimal on this, and team quality matters far more than it ever has before.

Last WL for me for a bit. Rivals, Squad Battles and upping my game for now.

I uninstalled this last night.  I had a bit of a moment when someone banged in 2 consecutive 35 yard back to goal ridiculousnesses.  I just can't believe that's the intended way to play this game as you can't really defend that as it felt closer to the halfway line than my goal.  It's just not that fun this game.

The fact that outside of the box finesse shots are more reliable to score from than one on ones shows where this game is.

Sounds like I'm not missing much with my few weeks off playing FIFA. Hopefully they patch soon to nerf some of these game breaking issues.

 

So tempted to pick up PES 2019 while it's on offer at £19.99 on PSN Store. But I'm sure there will be different problems!

Weekend league:

-Is stressful.

-Is time consuming. 

-Makes you anti social. 

-Pisses the wife off. 

-Exhausting as you have to stay up late. 

-Exhausting because its stressful and requires fairly intense focus. 

-Makes me a grumpy asshole the following day as I didn't get anywhere near enough sleep. 

 

But I did get gold 3 with 9 games to spare! So clearly it was worth it.

I was going to stop at Silver, I was lucky games went my way on the road to Gold 3, if the first game went tits up I would have been out.

 

I just wanted to get 2 In-Forms because I'm a sucker/idiot and am fully expecting a premier league player or Mertins, If I get shit I will *riot!

Is anyone saving up for Flashback Pedro with the swap cards this month? Might be nice, but you'd need every swap card, and the jumbo rare players pack for one less looks mighty tempting.

 

MLS and Portuguese league SBCs dropped last night too, Rooney looking like the pick of the players there.

Yeah I'm getting that Pedro, got the others so far, might as well get the set.

 

The SBC was easy, I used loads of untradeable CL cards and a couple low rated Rare gold English players.

 

I did the Serie A TIM league SBC, picked the CB for SBC fodder. Made back the coin used from the pack drop sales.

 

Roony's Birthday card last game was so good, I need to check stats to see if this is worth it.

i won without ever defending manually, not even tracking runs with a cdm, just stopping pressing or holding any buttons on the pad or moving the sticks.

 

ive deleted fifa 19, I’m going to reinstall 17 for when I want to play a game of virtual footy.
