Yeah keep winning. I play single player mainly though.

Done the Marque, best I got was scream Musonda and a few 83s. Worth about 3k each.

 

Decided to venture into the Russian League builder to do CSKA and proper lucked out with Kante! Whoop!

 

It was fairly cheap challenge, for a gold mega pack, I did it for around 7k. The bronze and Silver strikers are the ones that have been pushed up, so just convert a CAM to CF.

 

That big reward has bank rolled me and now I must do all the challenges <_< so addictive. I've player SBCs way more than the actual game. :lol:

I’m the same, I find myself playing SBC’s all night instead of actual games. I got a “bit” lucky last night. I completed the marquee match ups, and the F.C. Porto SBC, did my 4 squad battles games and 1 offline draft. My rewards were:

 

loan Scream player pack (Ozil)

Scream Bender

Deli Alli and Anthony Martial (out of the same pack!!!)

Marco Asencio

Bernardo Silva

and then only fucking 89-rated Scream Ozil for real 

 

So my team is now shaping up nicely:

In all the years of Ultimate Team I can honestly say I have never, NEVER received anything in a pack that made me really appreciate the system. All middle of the road shite!

 

My best run at UT was during the World Cup in 2014 and they had those amazing World Cup cards. I ended up with an incredible team but that was mostly down to the World Cup players being much more common and if I remember right there was specific World Cup packs, so everyone had a decent World Cup team. The card stats always changed  when player form changed so it felt really good getting a player cheap, seeing him improve and then getting the reward in his stats. For instance, Muller started the tournament around 84 and his goal scoring form had him up at 90 by the time the group games were done. This WC mode being toward the end of that FIFAs life cycle no doubt made it easier for EA to stomach this kind of system where the player was actually rewarded in their cards improving.

 

That is probably the biggest issue for me in UT, the fact that there is no mechanism for investing in players that you think will improve. Instead they throw in new upgraded TOTW, etc. cards encouraging you to chase the rainbow and leave standard players at their baseline stats. 

 

Its a disgusting system and the chat yesterday about similarities to gambling is quite scary. Its a habit / sickness that EA have tapped into more and more with UT (SBC being the big pull this year) but its just a video game so its harmless apparently. Has anyone honestly built a really good and expensive team without spending any real money? And the Ronaldo Editions with weekly packs counts as real money too, haha. Whether its to provide a kick start or to boost your progress UT is relentless in its encouragement for players to use real money. Playing the market with well timed bronze sales and spending hours to complete a SBC is great but the majority of players are still throwing money at the game. It may not throw the purchasing of FUT points in your face but it may as well given the often ridiculous criteria it gives you for doing things any other way. 

 

Bit of rant and of course I will continue grinding my way to the players I want but boil it all down, everything about UT is geared toward getting more real money from the majority of players.

Is a pretty big one. Tiki Taka on this at the minute is insane.  So atleast that is something.

 

But still the fundmental one is taking those ice skates off defenders. Attackers with the ball can turn and sprint within a split second, the defenders almost seem to glide around the pitch, if you take a step in the wrong direction it takes at least 3 weeks to recover.

 

And the number of long range goals, they need to reduce the accuracy and power.

This is the biggest one for me too Steely. Playing the AI makes it even more apparent as the AI defenders can change direction perfectly to intercept and make tackles. The nature of the jockey and contain controls just don't allow those quick changes that the AI can do. The only way I can see to resolve it is to make the jockey / contain controls a lot tighter so your defender reacts a lot quicker to the movements of the attacker they are locked on. This is potentially a step back toward legacy controls but would make the defending infinitely better!

Pack luck is pack luck. I presume ut works on a database system where when a player opens a pack it generates random numbers and you get a player based on the value? So the chance of getting a Ronaldo draw is 1 in 1000000 whereas the chance of a butland is 1 in 1000, so the time you open it which segment of your Bell end you use to press A will have no significance at all

The way I can only seem to get around it is to change the Tackling to the other method and you have to make sure you take your finger off of the Run button a second or two before you reach the player.
