I've played this one a lot over the years. The last few races on challenge are incredibly hard.

It did take me around 17 years to beat comix zone....this one has been getting on a bit too!

Well it's easy to finish Comix Zone, it ends at that impossible jump early in level 2 that no-one has ever got past and you won't convince me otherwise ;)

I was playing some Golden Axe myself yesterday. I've been trying to clear it on a single credit, but Death Adder is just too hard with his unkillable skeletons. Managed to do it with just one continue used yesterday, which is frustrating as I had only lost 1 life during the whole run at that point.

If I bought pal streets of rage 3....if I put the region switch to Japanese, does it play as bare knuckle 3 and all localisation differences....that would be amazing if it did.

no, avoid the PAL SOR 3 at all costs - its not multi-region.

The Japanese Bare Knuckle 3 is far better

I played the UK original on everdrive, I made it as far as the president stage iirc...but the ending was way too hard....someone advised me how this may of been ramped up on difficulty with the UK rental thing.

There are so many differences between the UK and Japanese release I know.

I think an everdrive can also play the Japanese game but translated.

I'm definitely going to pick it up when I have some money...

Well, if you are definitely going to pick up a pal copy of SOR3 then that's fine, but it will change my perception of you as a gamer to a collector - and thats ok.

I'm the biggest PAL collector of mega-drive games, and i dont have SOR3. I don't want it. It's broken. And that's ok too.

The UK didnt really have much of a games rental market back in the day - especially when compared to the USA. Its just that sega screwed the UK yet again.

I've got the PAL version of SOR3. I had fond memories of playing it with friends back in the day. I managed to snaffle it when it was about £35 though. I must admit I was pretty disappointed when I got it again. My memory of it was it was SOR2 with slightly better graphics and slightly worse music. It's most definitely not that, and it's rock hard to complete. Looks cool hanging on my wall though now.

Don’t forget Bare Knuckle/SoR 3 brought back the team attack moves from 1, as well as bottomless pits to chuck enemies down, both missing from 2. Plus it gives a dash move to every character which really improves the pace in my opinion - go back to 2 straight after and it can feel geriatric.

I played 3 on Wii vc and everdrive....I've never finished it, but I liked what I played.

The music isn't as chirpy as one and two, but my perception may change as its been a while.

I especially like how it implemented your special move, with a meter that replenishes.

Graphically beautiful too.
