Just signed up for Humble Monthly, loads in their trove that should play great on my Win 2. Trine, Meat Boy, Limbo. Never played any of them.

There's a little under a week left on the Boss Fight Books bundle.

https://www.humblebundle.com/books/classic-videogames-boss-fight-books?hmb_source=navbar&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=tile_index_8

I bring it up because the Spelunky book is written by the game's creator, Derek Yu, and is a full account of the game's development, how things work and why, and is a good read for anyone who loves the game. The Kindle edition of that book alone goes for half the price of the entire bundle, so that's 19 other books on games such as Super Mario Bros 3, Shadow of the Colossus and Earthbound.

I'm about two thirds through. It's good but it's like an essay about its characters and themes rather than an in depth look at the underlying game. I think the Spelunky book stands alone on that regard.

I’ve never really got into board games beyond being bored senseless with Monopoly with the kids but based on your opinion i’ve bought it to give it a try.

Also signed up to humble monthly. Doh!

Play with proper rules :quote:

You land on a space, you either buy it, or put it up for auction. None of this fluff, or free parking giving someone a load of money. Monopoly should be 30 mins at most and snowball in quite a fast manner. Ruthless capitalism at its finest.
