"Straight knock-out competition for all the leagues teams. No seedings, no groupings - one match of 7 minute halves. Cross your fingers for an easy tie and play."

N.B. Due to the number of players in the league this season, there will be a preliminary round to sort the final 16 teams. The participating 12 teams were drawn using random.org.

Rules

- Like the real League Cup, you play each opponent once only, the first team hosting

- 7 minute halves using 'online' squads (same as in the league)

- Match arrangements are to be made in this thread only, no PMs

- If the match ends in draw, a replay should be played with golden goal at the end of this tie, if the game remains a draw.

- If a fixture is unplayed after the deadline, a bye will be awarded to the side that has tried to arrange the fixture (judged on posts in this thread - not PMs).

- The draw for the League Cup and any scores are to be reported via the website. Please go there to check who you are playing and report the result of your match on the website as well as here on the forum!

(Manic) Dortmund 6-3 Bayern (Wincho)

Javi Martinez, Muller 2

After taking an early 2 goal lead, Bayern looked to be coasting in this first round cup match.

During this period Bayern had a stone wall penalty claim denied in what can only be described as cheating by the ref

Manic struggled to get going until 20 minutes in but then started to dominate the game and got one back through Reus before Lewandowski levelled things.

Just before half time Manic got a third to put himself in the driving seat and in doing so subject himself to a bout of Wincho moaning about the quality of his goals (all 3 were rebounds after the keeper saved the initial shot)

The second half saw Manic drive home the advantage, cutting through my defence seemingly at will with his pace and neat passing. Dortmund's ascendancy was rewarded with a couple more goals to take the score to 5-2.

Bayern were not done though and a Muller power header put them within two before another absolute stick on pen looked like it would get them within touching distance but the ref saw it differently and yet again, failed to award it.

Manic twisted the knife by immediately going down the other end and scoring to restore the 3 goal advantage (6-3) whereby the game fizzled out to completion.

Disappointed to go out the cup so early and if course, going out to Manic is even more painful but sometimes you have to lose to win. See Premiership thread!!!!!

3' Evra

71' Soldado

90' Llamela

Both very tight games, chances were at a premium throughout. You wouldn't have known that early on as Man U took the lead on 3 minutes after a long range curling effort from Rooney came back off the right hand post and Patrice Evra beat everyone else to the ball to make it 1-0 United.

United pressed and had the best of the first half but Spurs were on form in defence and just about held them to their slender lead, until the 70th minute when Llamela crossed for Soldado to head back across the keeper and level up the match.

The replay was even tighter, with both teams defences on top again. The match remained 0-0 until a 90th minute lofted through ball, and a stroke of luck, as Llamela's (I think! Sp?) first touch took him away from the last defender and allowed him to slot it past the keeper and break United hearts.

Great couple of games, Bleeders. A war of attrition to start the season. It's a shame someone had to lose. Good luck with the rest!

If I'm honest I'd of taken 4 league points over this cup win against my arch rival. As it panned out I'm now delighted to have progressed at his expense, it's all I have!

Didn't get the stats as we went straight into the lge matches, but at one stage I saw the keeper save count and it was 13 saves to 2 in favour of Manuel Neur. Couple of penalty shouts aside, this was a mauling.
