I always have regular friendlies going on but the Cup matches have just shown how much more fun it can be with a bit of competition added in. Lost in my game to Scratch (he had 3 chip ins in a row and left me needing to take risks, especially with the handicap) and would love an opportunity to play more competitive stuff. I've adjusted a few people's handicaps based on their scores so far in the tournament. Perhaps basing the handicaps on people's single player scores wasn't such a good idea, as some people are clearly vastly better than those scores would suggest. sladie Posted December 3, 2013 Share Posted December 3, 2013 Morris and I have finished our game. It was -6 vs -2 in my favour, so I think with handicaps that makes it -5 v -3? We've updated the spreadsheet anyway. We both putted poorly in this game and the scored could/should have been a bit lower. I tried to play Scratch again and all of a sudden it wouldn't allow us to play, stating there were no challenges. As this game still has a 100 friend limit, it failed to find him and therefore stopped the game happening. May be a bit screwed moving forward until there is a patch. I was able to sneak ahead for a while, then almost lost it all waking up at 3AM and diving right into the latest hole to continue the session. The result was a triple bogey that put me from -4 to -1 on hole 8, neck and neck as he comfortably hit par. We both birdied hole nine, leading to a points decision which I was lucky enough to win having shored them up earlier in the match. I sunk a long birdie on the sixth which gave me a little hope. However, when you decided to go for the shortcut on the eighth I couldn't believe you tried it to be honest - I always fall foul of it, and pretty much knew it was coming before it happened. Safely par for me to bring it to the last hole. The last hole was incredibly tense and I think we both almost ended up with eagles on it. I play with Spleen pretty often, and he'll testify that no matter the circumstances I will always attempt the riskiest shot even if there is absolutely no possibility of gaining anything from it. It's stupid really. It's not a risky shot, but In my match I went for the green off the tee on the 3rd and it went way too far and into the water. Dunno why but apart from a few birdies on the middle holes I found it difficult to get going and my judgement of the putting was much worse than usual, despite the mega cup. Annoying. There were several "easy" fours and fives that I could only get Par on, especially with the mega cup. Utopastac - what happens if, after handicap, players are tied?
