The Dons came charging out of the blocks in the North East rain and were dominating proceedings but it was the visitors who would take the lead just before half time with a deep cross nodded home by N’zogbia.

Changing things up, Aberdeen went more attacking to get an equaliser and were rewarded midway through the second half when Johnny Hayes burst through from midfield and slotted home a McGinn reverse pass. The Dons pushed on to try to get a winner but were thwarted on multiple occasions by a resolute Villa defence who held out despite scoring with their only attempt on goal.

Aberdeen came out flying in this one and took an early lead but a FIFA strips issue meant a restart (I’d have like to have kept the goal but I’m nice like that ;)). Villa took the lead midway through the half with Bentake tepping in a rebound after Jamie Clangfield made a hash of a shot that was straight at him. Aberdeen pushed to get back into the game and had the ball in the net via Hayes but the nippy midfielder was just offside. Big Josh Magennis (a former neighbour of mine IRL, fact fans ;)) volley in a leveller at the end of the half.

The Dons went all out to try to win the game but were punished on the break and it was an uphill struggle from there on with Villa smacking the woodwork on two occasions before the end.

Clangers gutted after loss

Cheers Scoot, well played, I'm gutted to lose the second game having put so much into it but 3 points each would have been fair given the chances I had in the first :D

All the best for the rest :)

It hit home how wrong I was with team selection when half my team have the first touch of Darren Mackie a baby elephant...

Yep despite my recent silencio! Due to working nights,

I've squeezed in three.. Yes erm.. 3 games! As Stephen had to get to work.

The first game with Stephen was end to end and he did batter the bejesus out of us. But FulHAM! Stood firm And we ground out a 0-0 draw against Napoli

... I fear that Napoli will come out guns blazing for the second fixture to be continued... :D

Onto the top dog Shalo Calo ....

We just played two really good games, I tried to withstand his attack but ended up conceding a penalty amongst the goals :/

Game one was 3-0 to Newcastle right up to the 90' when Remy banged two fast ones in.

Final score 5-0 to Newcastle

Game two was more even and I managed to score too... Woo!

Shalo turned on the style though and we finished Fulham 1 Newcastle 4

I'm glad I picked Fulham , they suit me well!

Thanks for the games thus far guys!

Suffered from really bad lag in both these fixtures, like that underwater level in Sonic the hedgehog. Can't really complain too much since it's not like I lost these games and Al only has Aberdeen, just didn't enjoy any of these games.

Home game against Greeny I scored a rebound 1st half. Greeny equalised 2nd half when I passed it out with my keeper and the rest is history, my fault for passing it out in laggy conditions.

Away game Greeny scored quickly from a through ball and was unlucky not to score again. 2nd half I came into it more and scored a goal in the box and then won the game with ye old Fifa 14 header.

Home game against Al I scored with the pass button :/ Then I conceded an OG, 2nd half I somehow managed a couple of decent goals to win.

Away game Al scored in my box and then I equalised with ye old Fifa 14 header, both goals 2nd half I think.

Cheers guys.

In their first meeting since Porto bribed a ref in the 1983/94 Cup Winners Cup quarter final against the holders Aberdeen, the gulf in class was apparent on the stats screen prior to kickoff…

Aberdeen were under the cosh in the rain from the start and after settling down, managed to create a few chances including a McGinn shot off the post. But it was Porto who created space and took the lead just before half time but the Dons responded quickly and went into the break level via an own goal caused by Magennis throwing his weight around in the box.

The second half was all Porto, with a header and a nice move sealing the win.

Power of Magennis led to equaliser but it wasn’t to be for gallant Reds

750.gifAlfromSleep (1 - 1) 4ndo 127.gif

Porto had all the play in a sunny first half in which Aberdeen were unable to create a sum total of zero shots on goal but the lowly SPFL side took the lead with their first shot after Magennis held the ball up well on the wing, passing inside for Will O’Flood to turn and score.

A few chances to double the lead came and went before it was backs to the wall with Porto finally getting a leveller 7 minutes from time with a cross and powerful header

Willo_Flood__1777586a.jpg
Flood broke the deadlock with the Dons first shot of the game

Cheers for the games, shame you didn't enjoy them, they were not too bad for me, despite the results. All the best for the rest

Phew. A night of high effort and sadness :(

But I'm pleased with my progress!

Played my outstanding spare game with Stephen very close. Napoli 2 Fulham 1

Then played Greenys Tottenham and had two wonderful games!

Lost Fulham 2 Tottenham 3 .. I should have locked it down at 2/2 Rats!

And then Tottenham 1 Fulham 0 ... Where my own inexperience at shooting cost me dearly.

Thanks for the games everyone and good luck

Fulham survive Napoli onslaught

10.gifHello Goaty (0 - 0) Stephen129 719.gif

Napoli-v-Villarreal-Marek-Hamsik-celeb_2

Napoli started the game cautiously, attempting to get a feel for their opponents. Sensing a slightly nervy Fulham defence, Napoli began to push forward looking for an opener, but were constantly frustrated by a mixture of resolute Fulham defending, last ditch tackles, poor finishing and on multiple occasions, the woodwork.

In the second half Napoli threw caution to the wind and went all out attacking in search of a goal. Fulham, however, held on, and put bodies on the line to deny Napoli their first win of the campaign. Fulham managed just one shot on Pepe Reina’s goal, and failed to string together any decisive passes in the final third. Overall Fulham will be pleased with a drawer, but Napoli know they must take their chances in the return fixture if they’re to record their first win.

 Fulham FC - SSC Napoli 2 Shots 13 1 On target 7 44% Possession 56% 9 Tackles 15 1 Fouls 1 0 Corners 3 50% Shot accuracy 53% 61% Pass accuracy 81%

Napoli record first victory

719.gifStephen129 (2 - 1) Hello Goaty 10.gif

1865564_full-lnd.jpg

Napoli came out all guns blazing, keen not to have a repeat of the first game whereby a host of good chances were spurned. Right from the outset, Fulham struggled to contain Napoli's fluid passing football and within a few minutes the ball was in the back of the net through Higuain. Napoli continued to push, but the second goal proved elusive. Just like in the first game, Fulham were barely holding on, but Napoli failed to convert a host of chances and hit the woodwork multiple times.

Napoli finally extended their lead through Hamsik. The goal served as the catalyst for a strong Fulham fightback. Ruiz pulled one back for the visitors, and Fulham threatened to equalise in the downpour of rain. Napoli just managed to hold on to a deserved win, but the manager will be looking into why his team failed to put away so many chances.

SSC Napoli - Fulham FC 20 Shots 6 13 On target 4 56% Possession 44% 8 Tackles 11 2 Fouls 1 7 Corners 2 65% Shot accuracy 66% 81% Pass accuracy 61%

The stats were very similar in both games. I had a lot of chances which I failed to take and my passing was more accurate than Goaty's. The possession stats were also identical. Goaty did a good job of holding me off, putting in some great last minute tackles.

El Shaarawy (36') Drogba (15')

El Shaarawy (45')

As is customary I shall do one match report and then not have the time to do any more.....

Game started out as a tight cagey affair as it always does between the two of us. Both teams struggled to find any rhythm but on 15 minutes Drogba was put through by a slide rule pass from midfield and used his strength to hold off two defenders before slotting home.

Milan equalised on 36 minutes through a El Shaarawy header before taking the lead on 45 minutes after asweepeing moved was again finished with an El Shaarawy header. The second half saw both teams go close, and Galatasary up the pressure in the last 15 minutes, but Milan held on for the win.

One feature of the game was the sheer number of close, and sometimes downright wrong, offside calls. I don't think I have ever seen so many. I think I had 2, and Dave must have had 4 offside calls that were dubious at best.

135.gifTiger Dave 1 - 3 PeteBrant 59.gif

Sneijder (73') Balotelli (49')

Kaka (53') pen

Robinho (87')

A more flowing an attacking game from both sides after we have had enough of probing one another.......

The first half was goaless with both defences on top after some end to end play that always lacked that cutting edge from both teams attack.

Balotelli broke the deadlock on 49 minutes with a header running away from goal. Balotelli had a hand in the second some 4 minutes later after he was brought down in the penalty area. The 'keeper got a leg on the resultant penalty but there was just enough power on it from Kaka to see the ball in the net. Again Galatasaray upped the pressure and on 73 minutes were rewards after a poorly cleared corner was finished masterfully by Wesley Sneijder from 20 yards through a crowded area.

Milan alwasy looked dangerous on the break though and on 87 minutes Robihno latched on to a lofted through ball just inside the areas and struck a low shot into the far corner to make it 3-1.

Both games had pretty much an equal share of posession, shots, shots on goal, and on another day the points could have easily gone the other way.

Well played Dave and good luck for the season.

Arsenal came out of the blocks pretty quick, managing to tuck away a low cross early in the game and take the game to Aberdeen from that point. Confidence was high and a couple of very long range shots somehow manged to bobble under the keeper to put the visitors in a commanding position by the break. Second half was a little more balanced but Aberdeen had their work cut out to make up for lost time.

Harbey (2 - 0) AlfromSleep

A much more evenly balanced game, but another game where the starting eleven made all the difference. Despite some very close chances, Aberdeen just couldn't find the target whilst Arsenal tested the keeper at every attack. A harsh scoreline considering but the Arsenal manager was happy to have some points on the board after a slow start to the season.

Cheers for the games mate. You were unlucky due to your keeper's performance in the first and your striker's in the second. Good luck with the season.

Higuain double sinks Monaco

719.gifStephen129 (3 - 0) TommyMAT 22.gif

201829914-848794e2-e773-41fb-bd54-cc7ee3

Napoli started off very brightly, Higuain putting the Italian side ahead within just three minutes. Their quick start continued with Hamsik who put them two-nil up by the 13th. Monaco were unfortunate to have a spectacular goal ruled offside, the Monaco striker chesting the ball down before hitting a bicycle kick low to Reina’s left.

In the second half Higuain rounded out the win with his second. Overall a fairly routine victory, yet Napoli knew they had to maintain their performance in the away fixture.

SSC Napoli - AS Monaco 11 Shots 6 7 On target 4 49% Possession 51% 20 Tackles 11 2 Fouls 1 1 Corners 1 63% Shot accuracy 66% 74% Pass accuracy 66%

Napoli put four past Monaco

22.gifTommyMAT (0 - 4) Stephen129 719.gif

Napoli-v-Fiorentina-Napoli-s-players-cel

Monaco looked determined to start with more focus and vigour than the first fixture. Napoli found chances were kept to a minimum, and found themselves relying on their back four’s good defensive reading of the game to keep the game at nil-nil. Late in the first half Napoli began to find their rhythm and Callejon managed to break the deadlock on the 41st minute. The former Real Madrid man was fortunate to find his deflected shot land back at his feet, he made no mistake at the second time of asking and finished smartly into the bottom right hand corner.

In the second half, Napoli continued on from where they left off, and Higuain made it two just after the half time break. On 65th minutes Raul Albiol powered home a header from a corner to make it 3-0. Insigne put the icing on the cake with a late goal to make it 4-0.

The scoreline was harsh on Monaco who had improved much since the first game, but ultimately Napoli produced two controlled performances to take all six points.

 AS Monaco - SSC Napoli 10 Shots 13 6 On target 6 47% Possession 53% 8 Tackles 16 1 Fouls 1 1 Corners 1 60% Shot accuracy 46% 67% Pass accuracy 75%

Tonight's matchup against Aberdeen I've dedicated to Martin Jol

post-265-0-26870200-1386022018.jpg

We just about won them both :o

Game one ended Fulham 2 Aberdeen 0

Not before Aberdeen peppered the crossbar though! It was a squeaky bum game for sure.

No idea how they didn't score really. Bloody tense!

If that wasn't tense enough...

Game two ended Aberdeen 2 Fulham 3

Tight. That's the word. Tight! Aberdeen went up first and then Fulham matched it twice in succession through top scorer Dejagah! Fast little bugger that he is.

We then gave a well nasty! free kick away outside the box and Aberdeen capitalised to make it 2-2.

Then.. In 90+ mins Berbatov squeezed through and fired one in to end the game as above!

Phew as they say.

Thanks for the games from an old friend Aberdeen! You're doing bloody well with them sir!

Good games Goaty, I enjoyed both of them despite the results! How I never got anything out of them I'll never know, especially the first which I felt in control of for most of the 90 minutes but you punished me on the break with two great finishes.

The second game was very even but your quality made the difference in the end, especially in the shooting department!

All the best for the rest of the season :)

Villa 0 - Arsenal 1

Close game with both sides having periods of domination. In the end, it was an unlucky deflection for the Villa defence which was the difference between the two teams.

Arsenal 0 - 1 Villa

See above. Another close game which was decided by one mistake in the defense department. To be fair, scoots goal was a bit more skilful than mine. Arsenal nearly salvaged something but saw the volley ricochet off the bar with just seconds left to play.

Good games mate. Very tight but exciting stuff. Good luck with the rest of the season.

Ah.. Looks like Villa got a warm up! As they just crucified Fulham. Back under the radar for us!

I had no answer to Scoots lineup, they killed me off.

Both games I was very quiet and in game two I got a red card in the rain which impacted things. Mind you.. I erm hit the crossbar..

Game one. Fulham 0 VIlla 3

Game two. Villa 6 Fulham 0 Yes. six..

Thanks for the games scoot they were tough!
