I think it's partly a side-effect of streaming media. When I'm getting obsessed with a series I always want to talk to people about it, but my friends will usually be further ahead or behind in the series, but at least reading forum posts there's the temptation that you can share thoughts whilst avoiding spoilers, even though you can't.

Despite loving Breaking Bad I’ve never watched BCS. I didn’t have Netflix or whatever I needed at the time to see season 1 and then it all just seemed too long ago to give it a go. 
 

Well I started it this week - 2 episodes down and I’m right into it.  Actually excited to watch the next one - which is a rarity these days.

It's rare that, having seen the end of a show that I've loved, that I would still endorse starting it to a new viewer.

 

This is definitely a strong recommend.

I'm watching Breaking Bad again at the moment, halfway through season 4. It's been said many times and it's so true: it's great, but BCS really is a lot better.

I watched the first season of BCS when it was first released and really enjoyed it. Then didn't have Netflix for a while, next thing I know there's been 6 seasons. Been off work this week with the Covids so thought I'd jump back in. Thats me just finished it all. Absolutely brilliant.

I'll admit I had a few tears in my eyes at the end. 

 

I couldn't remember if Kim was in Breaking Bad so unlike a lot of the other characters in this I was never sure what would happen to her and assumed probably killed. 

 

So while there was still a lot of enjoyable and tense plot points and storylines in the show it all kind of played 2nd fiddle to the Kim and Jimmy love story which for me was the main point of this. I so hoped Saul could have ended up with her again but knew when he went ahead with scamming the cancer guy that was the end of that. How it ended was perfect I think, very bittersweet. One thing I did notice, throughout the show and their relationship I don't think either of them ever said "I love you", but the acting and their performances was so good that they never needed to say it. Was sad to see her mundane Florida life, such a departure from before. 

 

The scene when Kim visits Jimmy in the prison, then the ending one with the fences between them... fuck, right in the feels. Walter was a dick in BB and I didn't really care how his story ended, Jimmy is a dick in this, but one I did care about. 

 

So much happened in the show and I loved every episode. But after the finale all I can think about is this tragic love story and everything else seems insignificant.

Finally finished this at the weekend, fuck me that was a drag.

 

I'll stick with my judgement next time and let my wife finish stuff herself.

 

I can't disagree that it was beautifully shot but for me it was quite a bit of style of substance.

 

And I realised I fucking hated every person in it. Well except Mike of course.
