It's no doubt been mentioned before, but a guy called Pete Peppers on YT does really good breakdowns of each episode, which I've found very insightful:

He points out from the latest episode, for example, that the

Vet's encoded notebook turns up in the montage at the very beginning of this season where the police are going through (what is presumably) Jimmy's house (with the golden toilet, etc). That's an interesting detail I would have otherwise completely missed.

Thanks, I think I'm going to have to watch one of those for last weeks episode as

I still can't remember how Lalo somehow finds his way to Germany - there are aspects now of Lalo's story that are getting on my nerves - they have him running around like some sort of super human now that can read and plan for every situation on the spin - it'll be interesting how his story ends as it's probably going to take Superman from the planet Krypton to stop him

This article is useful regarding that.

Essentially,

Spoiler

Lalo found out from Ziegler that Fring was building something big, but didn't know what. He found out Ziegler was married after he killed the guy in the money transfer shop, where Ziegler had wired some cash to his wife. This season, he's tracked down the wife to try to get some more info out of her, which is what leads him to her house, the sliding rule and then, eventually, the guy in the latest episode whose leg he hacked off.

As for how he's going to be stopped, Fring planted the gun in the bulldozer on the construction site because he knows that Lalo is eventually going to discover it, so I think he plans to confront him there.

I like how that episode did clear up lots of questions and made me feel less stupid, I think it's like a novel where you need to have faith in the writer a bit. As I get older though I tend to just assume I zoned out at some point.

Anyway, holy shit!

Was Howard a slimeball? I was really feeling sorry for him. Kim is clearly one of the main villains this season in my eyes.

Spoiler

I think only in the way most TV lawyers are, but ultimately he was a good man at heart.

That was awesome. I think because of the prolonged break between season 5 and this one, I wasn't 100% feeling it for season 6. But given what happened in that episode, the slow build up, in hindsight, has been absolutely worth it.

Spoiler

Nothing but sympathy for Howard at this point. I get the impression that's where we are supposed to be. If he was an utter dick it wouldn't have been anywhere near as shocking and more of a punch the air moment.

But just to name some moments from the last two episode where we had a couple of nudges from the writers onto team Howard...

The coffee scene that gave us so much with so little said! The ungrateful wife's lack of acknowledgement of the peace latte and its destruction.

Then the intern who dropped all the sodas... then proceeded to put the rattled sodas in the fridge... then he didn't even have the decency to know who the Charles Mcgill was!? Howard had so many opportunities to give him a bit of a roasting but opted to guide. (albeit slightly condescending but still)

Fair to say, he didn't deserve that ending! Humiliated amongst his peers and then rounded off the day with that. Daaaaamn.

This show is bloody brilliant. You just have no idea where its going to go.

I also loved how Howards speech about "why me?" Was pretty much exactly what the fan theory YouTube video a few pages back said. The writers are living in our heads. :hat:

how did the make Howard's pupils dilate?

I missed that, but I think I might watch this episode again anyway

Spoiler

They spiked the photos in the darkroom. I'm not sure what with though.

Howard thought it was some kind of drug on the photos (which were wet to the touch).

The dodgy vet gave them an untraceable drug that was like a massive caffeine hit. Dilated pupils, hyperactive, sweating, all to make it look like Howard had been on the coke. They laced the photos with it which the PI gave to him.

Man, that was electrifying. Tony Dalton is God. That smile!

Brilliant.

Spoiler

Apart from the ending, the best bit for me was when Kim and Jimmy were getting busy out of focus in the background while the phonecall was still coming through on loudspeaker. That moment was physically repellent. I literally winced.

Howard was exactly right: they absolutely get off on it.

What a programme.

Question:

What was it about

Spoiler

The cockroach that seemingly caused Lalo to have his epiphany about going to see Jimmy again? Lawyers are like cockroaches? Vermin? Hard to kill?

Or was the fact that it was walking along the pipe somehow significant? Jimmy is somehow Lalo's route to getting to Fring, possibly via Mike?

I might be overthinking it, but when every single frame in this show is constructed for a reason, you know there's something more than meets the eye with that cockroach...
