Peaky Blinders - New Season 25th August 9pm BBC1

Recommended Posts

Steven Knight says the show will end after series 7, so 3 more to go. There could also be a movie, but he would prefer to have that between two of the remaining series than after the end on TV.

So after 5 years of being told this was excellent, my wife and I finally got round to watching it and managed the whole 4 seasons in 2 weeks!  Loved it! I'd say the first couple of seasons were probably the best, the 4th being a bit of a slower affair, but overall great TV that has kept us occupied every evening after putting the kid to bed.

-Sam Neill was awesome, made you really hate him

-Hardy was his usual bizarre self, but extremely funny.

-The violence is brutal!

-Johnny Dogs - loved him.

Spoiler

Can't believe they killed off Jon though.

All the seasons have been added to BBC iPlayer.

Available for another 2 to 3 weeks depending on the season.

Just noticed this.

Never seen it, so gonna get started next week.

Gotta be better than Black Monday that I'm currently using to kill my commute.

I'll never understand the appeal of this show.

I even watched it all, and found it a miserable, tedious time.

It just felt like a bunch of cunts being cunts - but not like in The Sopranos, where they're all cunts, but the writing's great and the characters are charismatic.

It's just cunts all-round.

I've just started it this week and really enjoying it. I knew I would though, not sure why I didn't watch it when it first aired.

Just onto episode 6 of season 1.

I only just realised that I started this thread in 2013 and yet I've only just watched the show this last few weeks. I'm 1 episode behind catching up now.

The kid playing Charles is really bad. That's my only take from the first epsiode of the new series.

Anyone going to the event tonight at the Black Country Living Museum? We are going, and i'm dressing up this time (went in 2018 clothes last year, stood out like a sore thumb).

My Tamworth based friends (who we meet up there) may have two spare tickets if anyone is interested? I can check if they are still available.

The band that plays afterwards are brilliant, Peaky Blonder - lots of good cover versions.

There is a lot of slow motion. The episodes were often running up to eight minutes under. The only way to stretch them out was with slow motion. We tried to keep the slow motion away from dialogue as much as possible, but anything without dialogue was considered for slow motion.

Haha, is that right? I always take a sip of Buckfast every time two or more Peaky Blinders walk in slow motion side by side, and am legless every episode.
