After the first half I was convinced my prediction was correct. I was wrong though, excellent performance in the second half.

 

The pressing was more intense and concerted. Thiago played much better too, he was non existent first half.

 

Alexander Arnold in that mood is simply amazing too, some wonderful passing.

If Liverpool win the next two games and Chelsea win Liverpool will go into the last day ahead of Leicester on goal difference of at least +2

 

If Liverpool win the next two games and Leicester win Liverpool will go into the last day ahead of Chelsea by 2 points.

 

If Liverpool win the next two games and Chelsea vs Leicester is a draw Liverpool will go into the last day ahead of Chelsea by 1 point.

 

Basically, Liverpool are in control. They will go into the last day in the top 4 if they win the next two games.

The whole season has been in our hands and we’ve fucked it repeatedly. If you look at the last 7 league games though we are actually the form team. 5 wins 2 draws I think? Better than anyone else. So let’s give it a go.

IMO to avoid goal difference problems we really want Chelsea to lose against Leicester, or at least not beat them. 

 

Saying that though, Leicester are capable of losing against Spurs at the end of the season too.

I’m still resigned to finishing 5th. I’ve seen us not beat so many average teams this year that the thought of beating 3 in a row seems fanciful. Part of me quite enjoys Europa league though. The possibility of having Harvey Elliot etc back playing in Europe on Thursdays is quite exciting, it’s a good place to bring through youngsters.

I'm so glad the result wasn't hinged on that overturned peantly. I'm not sure if it was or wasn't one tbh, he does clear the ball but goes through Phillips, but at the same time, where is he meant to go? I was also sure it'd happened elsewhere in the league this year and this morning I've just remembered that Shef U got a penalty against us for the exact same challenge and VAR gave it. Fab cleared the ball and took out the man on the edge and VAR gave the penatly. All VAR is doing now is showing how shit and inconsistanct refs are. Its so shit.
