Centre back wise, it's looking like we're already wrapping up a deal for Konaté from RB Leipzig. I can't say I know much about him, but he's supposed to be a good prospect. So far, I don't see enough in Kabak, he's not a bad player but he's too slow to play in a high line - the same is true of Phillips, but he won't cost us a transfer fee to keep around. I'd be happy enough going into next season with Van Dijk, Gomez, Matip, Konaté and Phillips, with Williams and Koumetio (I think that's his name? The young lad Klopp was talking up pre-season) as back up for when they all inevitably shatter their knees.

I'd like to see a striker come in, Chelsea swooped in and took Werner from us (although looking at his form this season, we might have dodged a bullet there) and we didn't go in for anyone else. It would be nice to see us getting linked to Haaland, but that just isn't realistic. I saw us linked with Suarez the other day, it might be fun to bring him back but I would hope we have more ambition than that. I was reading about Joao Felix the other week and how he doesn't really suit Atletico, maybe throw a cheeky bid in for him?

@Keiths_DadYou're forgetting we also have Ben Davies, but I think Klopp has probably forgotten that too.

As for Werner, I don't think Klopp was ever seriously interested in him, was he?

I still think one (or more) of the front three will leave, so another striker is needed in addition to a quality CB and a hard look at our midfield, with some exits likely. I think we were linked with another young goalkeeper the other day too and we do need better backup than Adrian, for sure.

Excellent performance until having to pull the trigger. Salah should have worked Courtois twice and at least 3 other players should have had shots on target.

Can't see the way forward and this will be the end of the Champion's League journey this season.

The substitutions of Kabak and Milner killed the momentum, the choices on the bench weren't good enough to continue to build on the pressure Liverpool were exerting.

The desire, which people have questioned all season, was definitely there. The quality to break down a resilient Real Madrid team just wasn't there after the first 60 minutes.

Played well, couldn't finish chances and ultimatly fucked it in the first leg. Nevermind. This season has been utter shite. Can't wait to just get it over with and start again next year, hopefully with some fans in there.

Anyway...

ALL ABORD THE FOURTH PLACE TRAIN CHOOOO CHOOOOOO

After the first leg I'm not surprised we didn't go through so it's not that painful really.  The league has been gone for so long now that's also not a huge issue, so really 4th is what we have to aim for now.  It's possible, 3 teams for one spot certainly makes it difficult though.  What's our run in like, do we play Chelsea or West Ham at all?

Just taken a look, West Ham have a fairly easy run but have to play Chelsea. Chelsea have a harder run and more games due to FA Cup and Champs league. Liverpool's run in includes Man U but they could be still be in the Thursday cup so might cause them a few problems if they face anyone hard.

So I'd say with current league form we can get 4th but think we would need to win all games and Chelsea will need to beat West Ham.

Apart from our finishing we played much better yesterday but the tie was lost in the first leg. 7 games to go in the league

April

Mon 19th 20:00

Leeds United

Away

Leeds are not an easy team to beat but they wil give us space, need to score first and then should be an easy win.

Sat 24th 12:30

Newcastle United

Home

Should not be too difficult to beat them at home.

May

Sat 1st 15:00

Manchester United

Away

Could be a sticky match but again like Leeds they will give us space so early goal needed.

Sat 8th 15:00

Southampton

Home

Very Hot & cold team but I think we will get the 3 points.

These next three teams are our toughest matches because they will all park the bus!

Tue 11th 20:00

West Bromwich Albion

Away

Sat 15th 15:00

Burnley

Away

Sun 23rd 16:00

Crystal Palace

Home

Hopefully Leicester/West Ham/Chelsea slip up and we can sneak into 4th spot.

I'm very much of the opinion top 4 is in Liverpool's hands, the teams in and around them are all going to be dropping points. West Ham are currently down to 10 men and a goal down at Newcastle.

Edit : 2 goals down

We lost to Leicester yesterday which was a shame.

Was a solid performance but needed to convert our chances.

Sticking with the Women, but the men's team can fuck off as it stands.
