To be fair to him, how many minutes has he had since we bought him? Not many, I would reckon.

He's had a bit of time and Klopp sees him training every day so the must be a reason.  I'm not sold on him personally. In a more average Liverpool side I'd of expected to see him more often though.

It is the one big difference in midfield this season but he does bring a creative touch which is very useful.

Why does Klopp not start Nat Philips every game? He seems decent enough.

I thought the comparison to Veron was interesting. Veron was a fabulous footballer (my friend would always buy him in Championship/Football Manager) but he never worked at Man U or Chelsea.

I'm obviously not saying Thiago won't be great for us, but his style and approach is very different and I wonder if it might require a change to get the best from him.

Thiago is a class apart, but I don't know if what he brings is outweighed by what we lose. As ridiculous as that sounds, others in midfield might benefit from partnerships, whereas he does things on his own, perhaps?

It's hard to pinpoint, really, but we do seem to take fewer shots when he plays. Although, a large part of today is down to Origi.

I think if we have our CB’s back and Hendo/Fabinho in DMs then I think Thiago can then be the creative edge for the front three. I think we need Bobby on instead of Origi for today.

I don't think that's fair, has he even started 2 games in a row yet with the majority of the first eleven, or just played with the fringe team?

I don't know if he will step up or not, but he needs to have a proper chance at least.

What did he say?

Essentially what I said above - when Veron joined Man U he added quality and some silk, but their style of play changed as a result. He said that he wondered if Thiago had impacted things as the midfield was lacking some punch.

Of course its hard to make any judgement until we have the regular first team playing in their correct positions but I just thought it was an interesting comparison.

Triple Post!

I agree with the first paragraph, but we still have a lot of shots, they just aren't good opportunities. Again, with the front three all being out of form of late it's hard to make any overall judgement.

Maybe it's not.  But its top class football, he's doing something wrong.

I think it's obvious he isn't playing today because of the physical West Ham side.

On Thiago, he’s played once in a first-choice midfield (Vs Everton, alongside Henderson and Fabinho)

At the minute he’s often playing deeper than is ideal, decreasing the effectiveness of his attacking passing. He’s also lost three months to injury, robbing him of time to settle, yet he still looks extremely comfortable on the ball.

Gary Neville, as is often the case, is talking out of his rat Manc arsehole.

He wasn't stating anything as fact, just making an observation.

After Leicester's abject performance, that Klopp/Milner hug followed by that sublime second goal has me liking football again. When your lot are on song, it really is an absolute pleasure to watch them. Unless you're against them of course..

And? He’s still talking utter drivel.

Was it Nat that won the header that started it all?

Robertson.
