Agree with this, they were the better side overall. Just glad we managed to get back on the scoring lark. On the positive one less competition to worry about.

Bring on Spurs.

I hate this thinking. It's never a positive, it's an opportunity lost for those on the fringes of the squad/youngsters to get some top-level playing time. Who would argue that Rhys Williams wouldn't benefit from more competitive starts? Or for Minamino to actually get a game (that he's fallen behind Shaqiri probably tells a story)?

Gabe, don't get me wrong I would love to win the FA Cup, it is long overdue but we tried and lost so we have to move on and concentrate on the league/champions league.

Potentially looking at Sokratis as a free agent, not too confident that'd be a good idea but Williams was horribly exposed yesterday.

Anyone with any premier league experience has to be a better solution than putting Williams under pressure to perform at a top level. Even if it is a loan deal for six months.

We've never got close to winning the FA Cup under Klopp. We have won the champions league and premier league though. I'm ok with that.

Re Sokratis. Isn’t he slow as treacle? Appreciate it’s slim pickings for loanees but don’t feel having him will make much difference to overall stability with the high line we play.

Problem is we really need two CBs because Matip’s fitness is so unreliable. Otherwise might as well resign ourselves to the midfield imbalance remaining because Fabinho isn’t going to be consistently there to screen the back line and free up Henderson / Gini to do their roles as pivots.

Yeah, I know. I don't necessarily think we'd win it anyway, but getting beyond round four only once in his tenure isn't great and as I say, getting some of the fringe players - who may need to do a job in the league - some extra game time is never bad thing.

Open question, but in situation where you have all out players fit, who starts in midfield, who is left out and does the shape need to change?

Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, assuming Gini leaves this summer. Jones as cover. Could see Shaq, AOC and Keita all leaving in the summer, so potentially leaves someone else coming in too.

Obviously Thiago is shite though and should be sold because Richard Keys said he slows us down, and now ‘football Twitter’ is blaring the fact we’ve not won in the five games he’s started.

I really, really hate football Twitter.

Damn, I completely forgot about Keita! Be a shame if he left, he's still a youngster and has plenty still in him. Feel for AOC, he had that purple patch before getting injured (again) and hasn't had a great deal of opportunity to do much (and hasn't taken advantage when he has had a start). I could see him leaving, along with Shaqiri.

Yeah, AOC, Shaq and Keita have all struggled with injuries. Definitely would prefer Keita to stay but rarely stays fit long enough to truly establish himself, which is a real shame because he looks great when he plays. Amazed he’s reached 71 appearances to be honest. Only 11 this season though, which could be crucial in deciding his future.

Well tomorrow is huge. Could have been a 9 point gap to United, blue could be down to three

Meh, not thinking about point gaps. Let’s just have a good performance and not lose. Need to try and get some confidence back.

From a psychological viewpoint on the players 9 vs 3 is quite a difference heading into a difficult period. It should give them anm extra little boost.

We’re 6 points behind Man Utd right now with a game in hand, but they’re not going to win the title. Man City are 7 points ahead and are going to win the title unless we turn our form around dramatically. Let’s discuss it after tonight’s game anyway, not counting our eggs before they’ve hatched!

United are not going to win the title. They still have the same issues as before, are generally terrible for most of a match and have been bailed out by Fernandes and moments of individual brilliance. They still lack a cohesive plan on the field and always will with Solskjaer in charge. Yesterday’s result was a long time coming and there will be a few more of those especially whilst balancing Europa League commitments.

City will be the pace setters and honesty can’t look beyond them, I think they’ll runaway with it. I’d be more than happy with a top four. We’ve had our centre back pairing ripped from us for the season, amongst over injuries, no club in the world could be the same after that. Mourinho was pretty much spot on when he said that losing that not only impacts your defensive play but how you attack too. Last season with VVD/Matip or Gomez with Fabinho protecting was rock solid, the attack could be let off the leash and have the freedom to play how they like. Currently the team seem less inclined to want to make risky passes or take those chances leading for a more nervy and slow movement around the opposition box. Klopp just had to manage the situation the best he can, he himself doesn’t seem to be enjoying not playing the way he’d like the team to.  Personally I think the team did excellent to be easily the best in the country still up to Xmas, it’s started to catch up with them now unfortunately.

I’m hoping that we are looking for more options in defence over summer. We desperately need some experienced players who can fill in if we are left in a similar nightmare scenario.

I'm obviously happy that the goal doesn't count. But...

It's all so detracting. I mean, I've started not cheering when we score, because you never know whether there's a hair standing offside somewhere. And cheering a minute after the goal isn't really the same. Combine this with artificial crowd  noise and I don't really know why I'm watching this anymore. Not on a Thursday night when I've got the get out early next morning.

Really interesting change to the team set up. Everyone is about 10 yards up the pitch, the midfield three are getting up in and around the Tottenham area to contribute to the attack.

It's very different to what has happened recently.

All of this was obviously going to be the case but a weird bunch of nerds demanded more tech in football so there you go. Be careful what you wish for. Much like Brexit, I’m trying to extract what little satisfaction I can from being right about it being shit.

I go to watch my local club to see things being shit :(
