Cavani is already on his way down before any contact was made. Fair play he used his experience to win that one, doesn’t make it any less of a dive.

Nothing so blind as a football fan. Notice you’re ignoring the “offside” now.

Dizogg don't get banned in the Utd thread so I should be good! :sherlock:

I mean... Behave that was never red. Just a full bloodied tackle.

I expect that to be the average tackle in games between us. It's all been too soft and nice of late

Not a dive, he knew the contact was coming and used it to get the free kick. He was still caught by Fabinho and never a dive

I thought the Mane challenge could easily have been a red in the modern game.  It was one of those one where he flew in out of control, and his studs were very high.  I don't think you could have had any complaints if he had been sent off.

Either way, it was a cracking game.  I dare say you guys enjoyed it less than me, but great to see a Man Utd - Liverpool game live up to the billing for once.

It must have been nice to actually see your team score a couple of goals, too.  The first in particular was very easy on the eye.

You comments in the United thread had the game as 11 v 7 at one point

Was a good game to watch. especially compared to recent games. Around the 65 minute mark, we threatened to remember how we played the last two years.

Was that aimed at me? When do I claim Salah dives?

Salah definetly never dives.

Spoiler

Spoiler

and yes, I'm aware there are probably similar compilations for Man Utd players too.

11 vs 9 actually.  :P

On reflection it would have been harsh if Fabinho had been sent off for his part in the winning goal.  I was still annoyed by Mane's tackle I think.

I've just checked back, and I only wanted Fabinho booked, so my opinions remain as correct as they usually are.  You can interpret this as you see fit.  I had a custom title on another forum a while ago that proclaimed that I was Always Wrong, so...

Edit - @spork!  Stop putting the boot in!   I thought you guys played pretty well, particularly with so many injuries to key players.  Considering the form and the realative injury lists, you would have had to make United favorites before the match, but it was close and could have gone either way.  There were two ten-minute periods after each of your goals where you started to look like the Liverpool team of last season and threatened to swamp us, but on both occasions we scored against the run of play and this had the effect of deflating you.  Apart from that, I think United were the better team in what was a great game, and it feels odd to say either of those things after a Man Utd - Liverpool match.

Nah, but you know some of the United fans out there defending Cavani are the same ones that would be calling for Sarah's head if it were him

That's exactly what is happening, just in reverse. Just look at Danny Boys posts

Fuck around there is a lot of Man U fans in here, their own thread asleep or something? ;)

I thought it was a decent game, one full of mistakes from both sides but entertaining enough. Man U were the better side and just about deserved it. Cavani didn't dive, he 'won' the free kick and Fabs should have been a bit less keen to get an impossible tackle in.

It was great to see us fight for it a bit more than usual, and the two goals were excellent,  but our lack of defenders is really showing us up now.  We sorely miss Henderson in midfield as well.

No point, why argue when both sides are entrenched in their positions? A waste of effort.  It’s already descended into ‘but Salah goes down too’, yes he does on occasion, doesn’t make any difference though.

So you've watched the replay of Rashfords goal and still insist he was offside?

I thought the unspoken rule here was to not go on the wind up on supporter threads and keep it to the general football one? I’m going to look forward to rubbing it in the United thread next time Liverpool smash them :P

Dizzogg is already always in the United thread. Not seen him much recently though for some reason.

But cmon. If you're gonna say stupid things in here I'm going to call them out. :sherlock:

Yeah, but I want no complaints when I drench their thread with Henderson* gifs in the future.

*or whoever is captain when we next win the league again in 30 years.

Sorry guys. I think we got a bit carried away yesterday, all crashing your thread like a bunch of drunk party-goer twats steaming into a funeral.

Not that your thread is a funeral for your team, which is very much alive and well I'm sure! God, I'm not making this any better, am I? Sorry, sorry. I'll just leave. Sorry.

I’d say ‘come back in May’ but remember the old Anfield banner, ‘come back when you’ve won 18’. Your lot bloody did too.

Can OGS go back to being inconsistent now? West Ham are doing well, the Moyesiah is well-worth another shot, he’s earned it, United legend etc etc

Agree with this, they were the better side overall. Just glad we managed to get back on the scoring lark. On the positive one less competition to worry about.

Bring on Spurs.
