I think I might have said this last time he was on but even my Glaswegian Celtic supporting dad and his mate, born in 1933 and steeped in rivalry (despite what they said they hated Rangers), didn’t mind Ally McCoist. He seems okay, has a sense of humour about it and doesn’t take part in all the bigotry bullshit, was pretty much their take. He liked him on QoS.

Met him with my dad whilst in South Africa on a wine tram. Yes, tram.  Exactly as hilarious as you may expect given the circumstances, really humble fella and made time to talk shite with my dad :)

Sterile domination against West Brom and just plain sterile during large parts of the game tonight.

Even so, still created enough clear chances to win the game but lacked the clinical finishing shown at Palace. Frustrating night but at least there’s a decent break until Southampton on Monday.

Decent cameo from Thiago, played a couple of passes that none of the other midfielders do.

Drab end to 2020, but it’s been a fun, historic and emotional year on the pitch, and a pleasure sharing it with you all in here :)

It's been a poor couple of results and definitely points dropped, gives me slight shivers remembering back under Houllier where we didn't win for 3 months and drew loads.

Can't grumble about 2020 overall in footballing terms, it's been an amazing year, but it's ended on a bit of a damp squib. Some tough games in January too which will either keep us in the mix or sees us drop out, I feel.

Speaking of Houllier, I can’t help but feel like the lads really delivered against Palace considering the news came out that week.  All a bit flat since, tired I guess, miserable world we are in right now.  The whole league has been a bit drab for a couple of weeks especially if we compare back to when it all started.

Nah, I don't think that's true, there's been plenty of good stuff - just not involving Liverpool :P

He was pretty much the best midfielder tonight. Yes, he won't do what creative types will but he has never been that player for Liverpool.

Jones is the player out of the three who started tonight who is usually able to get at the opposition and make runs to join in with the front three, that didn't happen tonight and at his age I wouldn't expect him to be able to produce week in week out.

Milner has a special quality that can be invaluable in the situation Liverpool find themselves in at the moment. His experience of top level English football is second to none in the squad.
