We never.once looked in any kind of trouble, against the team you would think most likely to capitalise on any weakness we displayed. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, perhaps everyone has forgotten we were 33 points clear of 3rd last season. The only surprise here is that we're not 4 points better off than we currently are, because nobody could argue if we were.

Some of this is also down to Leicester playing everything long, which has actually meant our own midfield haven't had to do as much as we all feared. Jones could probably go looking for the ball even more, because Keita and Gini aren't struggling to find the ball at all.

I waited until the end of the match to reply but the change in tack from Leicester second half didn't make a difference at all to the game.

The only thing that really caused any worry was the inexperience of Williams on the right, he made the wrong decision a few times but Leicester couldn't capitalise.

All in all a dominant display from a midfield who had 1 of 3 regulars playing.

Obviously, not being a Liverpool fan and wanting a more competitive league this season after last, the natural thought when checking a Liverpool min by min is: please be losing. Now I'm scared Mourinho will win the league with spurs and we'll never live it down, adding complexity to the feelings of following Liverpool min by mins. I'd hope in times of facing the greatest evil, all teams unite against our common enemy.

I've always felt this way about the guy, but how dam good is Joel Matip? He was superb at the weekend, if only he could stay injury free.

He has all the ability but like Rob Jones, Markus Babbel, Vegard Heggem, Daniel Agger, Danny ings and others, his legacy will be one blighted by injury.

Origi playing like he had accepted his time at Liverpool had already peaked and there isn't much point in trying to impress.

Just nothing about him and stands out in a first half that has been off all over the pitch

Poor tonight, looked like they weren't too bothered about the result. I understand why tonight wasn't a priority, but it means we have to go at it next week, and I always feel robbed when I watch a game that we have no real intention of winning.

Atalanta were good though, set up solidly and the 2 goals were well worked.

Yeah we were poor, just too slow and could not get that needle-threaded pass through their defence. We gave away so many balls, I thought Neco Williams played a bad game, gave away too many balls and did not drive the team forward to create crossing opportunities unlike Tsimikas who had a better game.

Anyhow the fixtures keep coming thick and fast we go to see how Adam is doing at Brighton.

Feels like 5 minutes since we last played. My girlfriend was shocked when I headed upstairs, "Didn't they just play the other night?"

Klopp definitely has a point, but because it's Liverpool making it all the other supporters won't be getting behind it. Maybe when all teams are playing their tealadies because there are no players left, that's when they'll listen. Good to see Minamino getting a start, Mane probably needs the rest!
