Kamikaze defending? It's two individuals errors. The only two on target Arsenal attempts so far.

The game was under control until those. Clearly far too relaxed from those two at those specific periods but I wouldn't describe the rest of the performance anywhere near kamikaze.

I'm clearly referring to those moments as kamikaze, not the rest.

Two absolute gifts for Arsenal who didn't do anything in the game. The lack of form since the break is worrying as is how ineffective the substitutes have been, hopefully Klopp can sort them out for the Chelsea game.

Been pants since we won the league. You can see why there’s a hangover as the players are only human and have given it their all over two seasons to achieve this.

With the five sub rule and City planning to spend another kings ransom I really hope that we are not going to rest on our laurels and just bring through a few youth players. A couple of players in key areas is definitely needed if we want to try for number 20.

I was really looking forward to taking the records from PR FC but maybe next year. They are going to spend big this summer and are one of the few clubs able to thanks their owners bottomless pockets. At this point it's get the season over with and onto the next one, hopefully leaving our poor form behind.

What a strange game. 268% possession and created very little in the way of clear chances. Rare to see two errors like those that gifted Arsenal their goals in the same game too.

Can’t be too mad. The side has been 100mph for two straight seasons, won a European Cup, broken the league drought, only lost four times in 74 league games and added some lovely extra baubles like the World Club Championship.

So they miss out on a few records, there’ll still be no less ribbons on the trophy next week :)

Arsenal were complete passengers in that game and whilst only have 3? shots they were still all better than the chances we created.

A frustrating performance, with only Mane looking like he could do anything to rescue a point. The front 3 just haven't clicked since the restart other than the Palace game and the options on the bench are not going to scare teams.

Yeah, yeah, still champions and all, but as they say, you are only as good as your last result etc...

It's still frustrating to lose any game ever, but it's also difficult to feel angry when it matters so little. I also don't think the form will carry over to next season, I genuinely think it's just a case of other teams wanting it more.

Still champions. Still going to be the ones to beat next season. Still the happiest I've been with my team in 30 years!

Need to spend a lot of money now. Build while you’re at the top, it’s what best teams do and it’s what we didn’t do after 1990. We were slow to adapt to the changing landscape then and got left behind but it shouldn’t be a factor now. Prem champions. Euro champs last year and no money spent. We should have a lot to spend. No excuses.

There won’t be any major signings before next season and certainly not a lot of money spent. The club wasn’t willing to shell out €50m on Werner, when he pretty much asked to be signed. Maybe a couple of low-key additions but imagine Liverpool’s spending will be well below the other top four or five clubs. A lot of the prize money earned will have been spent on new contracts for key players so that pot isn’t there either.

Arsenal had 3 shots tonight and scored two of them. Run that game back and nine times out of 10 Liverpool wins by four or five... bit like they’ve done against Arsenal several times in recent years. They’re ninth and we’re top for reasons far beyond this game.

We won't just go and spend money, the financial future of the world. let alone the sport is so uncertain, that spending big could end us. FSG are cleverer than that.

At most...

Jamal Lewis from Norwich

The rest will come from Jones, Williams and Elliot and Brewster.

I agree that we probably won't spend any money, but I think that's a mistake. We've played some brilliant football over the last couple of seasons (though I agree with Kevin De Bruyne that we played better last season) but we've also scraped through a lot of games quite unconvincingly and, particularly up top, we don't have reliable options on the bench to change things up and score goals.

Every team around us will be strengthening and, unlike a lot of people, I don't think Man Utd are actually that far behind now that Pogba is finally starting to fit into place and Fernandes makes things happen - and they probably have a front 3 with the most potential in the league. I don't think Man City need to do all that much if they keep Laporte fit and Eric Garcia looks decent for their CBs - they are always going to score boatloads more than anybody else with the talent they have.

It's been mentioned already in the thread and by pundits, but there is the danger of 1990 repeating again, when the club won the league fairly comfortably in the end and didn't invest in the squad and the decline set in. Whilst I don't think Klopp is at all blind to these dangers, I think there might be an over-reliance on the core 11 again next season and I don't think that's the way to build on this success.
