It's not that they don't want to win, but how much do you risk now? They will be a little off the pace after celebrations and being able to just enjoy it for a bit. City are sharper that's for sure. Robbo is clearly not the player he has been all season, but boy has he earned an off night.

Robbo went a bit crazy horse for the third goal and Gomez hasn't had a great half, but I don't for a second believe any of them are holding back (or have been told to by Klopp). They aren't going to be thinking about injuries either - there are still 6 games after this to play, for goodness' sake. We have just been punished for some poor decisions and not made good choices when we attack.

Not purposely holding back no, but they are all a little off the pace. Probably compounded by City upping their game for this one to prove a point.

I am not sure why I am even debating this, I couldn't care less. It feels like we have lost a pound after winning the lottery,.

Well are going to agree to disagree, but I feel that the moment you relax, it's hard to get motivated again whilst that might not matter tonight, or in 6 games time, it might manifest next season. But yeah, there's no point talking about it.

Can't say after already winning the league I'm too fused about losing to Man City, just would have been nice for it not to be 4-0 with loads of time left for more.

We've just been so poor at the back and with finishing. Not sure I trust Klopp that the celebrations only last one night

Just think of all the joy we've given to Man U fans tonight. Finally, they've had something to cheer about. Their biggest night iof the season is their local rivals, who are 21 points ahead of them, beating their biggest rivals who are 34 points ahead, after said biggest rivals have already won the title.

That’s a reality check. Hopefully a better performance against Villa otherwise I’ll start to get worried. The fifth goal should have stood as well, those kinds of decisions are ridiculous due to the rules.

Worried about what?  We're already the champions ffs. Its one performance, don't read too much into it. Its only our 2nd defeat of the season remember. It was 50/50 up until the penalty too. Its Man City also, they are always capable of hammering a team when they're on it and remember we completely outplayed them at Anfield earlier in the season too. The games between these two are like this at the moment.

Oh come on. How many times down the last 30 years have we battered teams that have gone on to, or just won the league. Doing United 4-0 at Old Trafford, Chelsea 4-1, City 4-1. I'd rather get the odd battering after titles than be where we have over the years :)

There's always the chance a run of bad games in one season can run into the other. Of course in this game we still created chances and City were just clinical with theirs which Villa haven't been known for this season. It would be nice to start scoring away goals again though.

This result just shows that if we are slightly off our game (for whatever reason), we lose (see Watford, Atlectico away, Napoli for other instances). Carragher also said it in commentary that City are a better technical side, and I think that's true, whilst we're more the sum of our parts.

All teams lose. City just did 198 points over back to back seasons but have lost 8 games this season in the league, 1 against bottom of the table. This is only our 6th defeat in all competitions. Its fine.

You do realise you lost to Manchester City right? Even after winning the league, you still can't get Manchester United of your head lol.

Footballs teams lose though. There’s never been a side that just doesn’t lose. We are going to lose some games.
